hello welcome Marlin here if you caughtlast week’s cookie tutorial we did abeginner Easter project and today we’removing on to a more intermediate projectthis will have a few more kind oftechniques we’re gonna work with adifferent icing consistency so let’s getstarted and before we get started hereare a few ways you can help my channelif you enjoy my tutorials you can geteven more of them via patreon if yousubscribe to that if not you can make adonation via PayPal the link in thedescription box shopping my Amazon storedirectly helps my channel and then youcan comment like and share the contentand let’s get started let’s quickly lookat the cookie cutter set once again youcan see there’s a carrot a basket and abunny I picked this up reallyinexpensively at my local dollar storebut it does get quite pricey to buyevery cookie cutter out there so todaywe’re going to look at using a designthat we like on the cutters that wealready own so let’s look at decoratingthat Bunny on two different shapesalright I’m going to show you the samedesign on two shapes it’s not alwaysnecessary to run out and buy everycookie cutter that you see you canusually tweak designs that you like tofit on the cutters that you have alreadyand so in this case here I’m outliningthe two and brown icing to create kindof like more of a cartoon look likethose cartoons that are outlined inblack I’m using brown just because it’snot as harsh as black you’re less likelyto to have bleeding which can ruin acookie having black leaching into yourdesignwell again here it’s exactly the sameyou see I’m outlining the head the headis in a very different shape but thesame thing again outlining the body thefeet are smaller but it’s the same thingand now the belly area I’m going to flipmy cookies around just to facilitateworking on the ears if you have anyPeaks or anything you want to fix now’sthe time you don’t want to do that whenthe icing is dry and let’s just flipthese guys over I’m just adding a littleline here at the top of the head samething over here and closing offand now this one this one’s round[Music]you don’t have to find a point and nowthe section inside the ear replicatingthe outer perimeter just slightlysmaller here my icing is kind of pointedup so I’m just resting it down on thecookie and we want to let these linesdry before we come in and out flood Ineed so that there’s kind of aseparation between the line and and thefill area so we’re gonna let these setup a little bit and then we’ll filleverything out now I’m going to decoratethe little feet I’m starting off byoutlining the perimeter same as thebodies in brown I’m waiting for theseperimeter lines to dry just to create aslight difference as you can see I’mworking in a size that’s appropriate forthe cutter the feet on the more kind oftriangular eared buddy are much smallerand so I need a much smaller cookiecutter now I’m just going to fill allthese holes with my bunny rabbit colorand you can move quite quickly now it’sup to you if you want to drop the littlepink pad areas into this way icing sothat they sink I’m leaving them up toadd just another level of dimension tothe design you see it gives that just alittle bit moresomething going onand now I’m going to flood my sectionsfor my bunnies here so I’m starting offwith the tummythereand now we’re going to fill the ear areanow in a small small section like thissometimes you’re better to underfill andthen go in with your needle or toothpickand then spread your icing within thearea just so that you don’t have anyoverflow a triangle section like this isa sometimes a little trickier to fillthe icing moves kind of an around way soit’s not gonna fill those areas asnicely like here it’s just gonna workbetter also it is slightly bigger yeahit’s connecting everywhere okay and thenonce these have dried all I’m gonna fillthe rest I’m not filling now just incase my icing was to spill over thenwhen it touches this wet icing it’llconnect and pull towards each other soyou’re better to wait for the crustingto happen before you flood your areasicing has had time to crust and now Ican come in and fill my sections I’mgoing to do just the bottom first andthen we’ll come in and fill the headonce this has had time to crust overand this one hereonce this is high time to crust the headwill be fill our sections the ears andhead[Music]one of the fastest ways to ruin all yourhard work is by messing up the face Ireally like using stencils for this evenif it’s not to actually decorate thecookie it’s a great way to at least giveyourself some guidelines so draw outyour face and then you can cut it out assimply it’s just poking a hole throughit so that you have kind of a guidelineas to where to pipe in this case I’mairbrushing so that I get these finelittle whiskers the little smile I’llhave the lashes and then I can come inand use the nose and the eyes asguidelines and come in and pipe on topof that very quickly and easily thestencil fits both on the the two designsthe width of a head even though thecookies are very different the width ofthe head is the same and now I can justrest my stencil on right like that yousee and I see exactly where to place itI can kind of like hold it in place oryou can use a a magnet to weight it downand I’m using a color I think it’scalled espresso it’s not quite brownit’s not quite black I find it it’s notso harshlet’s see you see I’m getting a nicefine whisker and you all your cookiesare gonna look the same and you can workpretty quick here’s my next one I lovethat you can see where to place itbefore you even add the color it’s kindof foolproofsame as the bunnies you don’t need theexact shape here I’ve got two differentcarrots and we’re going to make it workI’m going to show you that it can becute no matter what you have so I’m justadding some lines here to the inside ofthe carrots now I’m going to let thisdry so that I can come in and fill thecenter area and now I’m flooding mylittle carrot cookies and you can seethe brown lines are causing some kind oflike texture if you will you see thereflection there so my icing has to beon the thick side but still heal sothat’s tricky a bit to get the rightconsistency ideally you’re waiting foryour lines here to dry somewhat becausethen it like doesn’t crawl up it as muchit kind of stops and so you’re gettinglike an uneven layer of icing which Iwant I want like the texture of thecarrot they’re kind of like a bit bumpyand so these brown lines cause theorange icing to stay down against themand then it’s like a bump more towardsthe centeryou see and then once I’m done I’ll beable to add the green part at the topthe stemso you want your icing to connectagainst the brown lines and then let meshake it out for it to just smooth emthere is the little carrot both adorablereally rank doesn’t matter that they’reslightly differentthey both convey the message that theyare carrots I wanted these right here tobe a little bit more up so there that’sit for right now you’re all my bunnyfeet ready for the pads so I’m startingoff with a bigger dotlet’s just make sure that we’ve got allthese smooth Dover and now the littletoeand now the bigger same thingand now I’m airbrushing the cookie inthe same brown as I did my perimeterline and what I’m doing is I’m justcreating a slight fade so that thereisn’t such a harshness between the twocolors I’ve added alcohol to my airbrushcolor just to soften like it’s it’s moretranslucent when it comes out and soit’s a little bit easier to just createlike a blush kind of a color applicationas opposed to full coverage and I’m justgently adding just a very tiny amounthitting the brown line and it’s theoverspray that’s going on the ivory andit’s giving me kind of like a vintagemore antiquey look there we go and nowover herenow obviously your cookies your designyou can do what you want to do but asyou can see here I decided to add someicing to those airbrushed features thegreat thing about those airbrushedfeatures is they’re all going to beexactly the same and you can just comein and quickly fill that with icing hereI’m adding a pink nose and you can justkind of do like a a dollop of icing asmall amount and then come in with yourneedle and shape that now you can eithercompletely hide that airbrush or you canleave a very faint perimeter and itgives a fake outline kind of you knowand now same thing for the eyes I canjust add a bit of black icing here tothe eye area just to create a little bitof relief yeah and again you can come inwith your needle and just fill kind ofthe area where the eye goes this icingis a bit stiffer than the pink and thenI’m going to add a little reflection tothis[Applause]there we go putting together my bunniesnow if you wanted you could decorate thefeet right on the cookie you could addyou could have added like these ovalsand have the feet right on I want it tohave them separate like this I like thelittle mini cookies now here if you lookat the difference here there’s no roomfor these little arms you see the bigfeet are hiding everything so let’sstart with this one I’m just going toquickly show you what I’m doing is I’mjust adding a dollop of stiff whiteicing and I’m securing the feet to mycookie these are just oval cookies andI’m just pushing those into the basestanding up the cookie to push it kindof down to see like where’s the bottomof the cookie if I want to stand them upand then that’s it we’re gonna let thisdry and they’re pretty much done forthis version however we’re going to dothe same thing add some stiff icingright here and again stick our littlefeet on let’s stand up the cookie sothat we can press them to the bottom andnow I’m just like that and now I’m goingto add some little Brown perimeter linestarting here a little bit over thebelly basically like a paisley shapejust like that there and I’m going tolet this dry so that I can fill it in inthat same ivory and then my little bunnywill have the little arms resting on itstummy so that’s basically the differencebetween the two and now that they’vecrusted over a little bit so easy I’mjust adding a dollop of icing in therepushing it into the pointright there I’m just guiding it andthat’s it the cookies are pretty muchdoneyou can puff it up a little bit more ifyou want but don’t go too crazy or elseit’ll spill over and these might need alittle shot of airbrush just so thatthey look like the rest of the bunny I’mjust going to add a little bit of furright here so just a star tip and just alittle a little kind of swoop of icingright there and it just carries up thewhite like I say from the belly and itjust gives the head a little add it cuteand we can repeat that on the other oneas well here’s my cookie and I’m justquickly adding some white backgroundhere to the top so that when I fill mybasket no cookie will be exposed it’lljust look a little bit more kind ofcompletely decorated a really thin layeryou don’t need a lot of icing like thatand if it’s messy you can just come inwith your finger the handle is going tobe there so all this won’t be showingand now we’re doing the same thing onthe bottom area but in brown you canwipe your spatula with a paper towel andnow I’m coming in and filling this areahere with a thin layer of brown thereason for this is should there be gapsin my basket weave this will make itmore difficult to spot them by fillingthis area in with some coloryou’ll camouflage any imperfections moreeasily this dries very fast and so asits drying you continue to fiddle withit it kind of flakes off so that’s thekind ofsomewhat quickly and while it’s wet I’mkind of marking it up to give myselfsome quick piping guidelines and justlike so and the same thing this way thewidth of the piping tip and also notstraight it’s a basket just give it abit of a like a curve to follow theshape of the basket like a roundness toit and now I put the brown icing and twopiping bags so that I’m not constantlyswitching my piping tips I’m ready nowto add my basket weave I’m going tostart at the bottom here and right wherethe line is going to go up I’m juststarting right there and I’m pullingtowards the edge of the cookie skippingabout the width of that piping tip toabout here and I’m following like I’mmaking it a bit rounded so that itfollows the shape of that cookie I’mgoing to stop no point going up here andnow I’m just flattening right right herethere was water there okaynow I’m switching piping bag I’m takingmy round nozzle and you can kind ofremove the excess here to get it to bethe shape of your cookie okay and nowI’m grabbing my other piping bag and I’madding the straight line down andcutting it against the cookie now I’mstarting right here where that next lineis gonna beand cutting here I’m cutting here andagain just flattening right herebring this line down it’s repetitiveonce you get the knack it’s justrepetitive I’m tucking this line underthis one here this first one and cuttinghere tucking it in there and like sograbbing switching it up to this one andit’s better if you have the two pipingbags if not then you’re constantlyswitching the piping tip and you can’twork as quicklyand make sure the teeth are on the wayup so that you actually see themthis is my last line like this so I’mgoing to tuck this one end there nowthis one’s a bit longer okay now you canjust so there’s the whole basket and nowI’m going to jazz up the edge they’reswitching my piping tip to a 364 I founda big side button will do and I’m justadding a little kind of border along theedge here like baskets haveand that’s it for right now I’m gonnalet this just dry a little bit addingnow I’m adding like a bit of cotton anapkin in there and it’s a blue 61 tipit’s kind of like a petal tip like arose tip but it’s got a slight curve soit helps like to create a bit ofdimension and have it pop up not idealfor packaging these cookies because theythat will break but if you put them inboxes it’ll be fine and all I’m doinghere is I’m squishing to get like like apetal tip I kind of like a ruffle andI’m doing an EM kind of movement rightat the edge here and you see there timeI’ve got some of the Browns showing inthere so I’m just gonna use a paintbrushto kind of smush this down and hide thebrown so you want to do this while theicing is is wet and your brush is dampnot soaked damp and we’re just hidingthe brown edge and flattening this outso that we get a nice edge there you seeand there’s our little basket with thelittle kind of napkin and summarizingthe basket needs a handle the handlewill hide this ugliness right here soI’m connecting right here and a circularmotion to a boat here I guess and thenI’m going to start over here and do thesame thingand that’s that for right now what if Itold you there was a piping tip thatwould allow you to just squirt outflowers quickly it’s called a dropflower piping tip they come in a fewsizes I’m going to start with a leaf tipI’m holding my cookie up here to addleaves right here to tuck them along theedge so you can kind of angle them likeso and if you want also you can add afew kind of randomly popping over thehandle just while it’s empty make yourlife a bit easier and now I’ve got someyellow icing in here you want the icingto be stiff so that it holds its shape224 and I’m just going to squeeze andRock squeeze and rock just leaving somegaps in between so that I can come inand add a different color after and thensee that there’s a pedal that got whipit off don’t worry about that becauseonce you fill in with the other flowersthat will not even be visible so in thewet icing I’m just squishing in a littlepearl in the middle of each flower youcan make these on parchment paper andthen let them dry and you’ll have themto attach on to your cookies it’s agreat way to use your leftover icing youcan pipe a little middle if you wouldrather instead of using a pearl thatone’s going across the table okay nowI’m driving my other color kind of likea purplish color this one is bigger it’sa 140 and then in those gaps I’m fillingI’m having some difficulties but againI’m not worrying too much about it I’mjust gonna put a leaf where there’sholes okayand now I can grab a bigger pearl sincethis flower is bigger and my medals tothisokay now I’m grabbing my leaf greenagain my weak piping tip and in all thisI can fillthe gaps with leaves and there we haveitstep the bunnies are done baskets fromjust finishing off the stems on thecarrots so on this one here it’s muchsmaller area for the stem and so I’mjust going to add on this sideconnecting to the orange and pullingconnecting to the orange and pulling andthen in the middle here and that’s itfor that one and then here I’m goingslow and so what happens is it causesour wrinkling go ruffling and so I’mjust adding that and then here thesecond one there and then connecting andagain and then we have our littlesticker I like this but I had it in myhead so we’re gonna do it I’m adding abow so first thing here it’s a 102 andI’m just right here adding a squigglyline right there cutting my icing andnow another one right here cutting myicing right there and now I’m adding aloop like so and then back again meetingright there now in the center to holdall this I’m adding a coordinating pearljust to kind of squish this down andfinish it off so there’s my bow on thebasket and a quick recap of all ourcookies here are the carrots and the twoversions a little mini ones and thelonger ones that came with the set bothadorable and you could probably useother shapes that you already own tocreate the carrot and then our littlebunnies the one on the left is reallythe one from the kit super cute but theother one with the big oversized feetequally adorable use what you haveand finally the basket as you can seewhen we break down the steps it’s reallynot that complicatedif you’ve stuckme all the way to the end thanks so muchfor watching I hope you enjoyed thevideo be sure to subscribe so you don’tmiss any future uploads and I’ll see younext time
