Yes, you need to have or create sourdough starter to make these French baguettes. But once you do, you will not believe how speedy and easy it is to turn out a couple of hot, crisp, tasty and slightly tangy loaves just in time for dinner. Slather on a little butter, and oh my gosh!! SO DELICIOUS! There are loads of recipes and videos for starting your sourdough starter from scratch, so no need to repeat here. BUT once you have one, just dip out of cupful of it (remembering to save a cup for your main starter pot), mix with the flour and water, and that’s just about it!
