While everyone is home and looking for new forms of entertainment, I’ve found myself unable to stop baking. Last week was my mom’s birthday, so I made a new recipe I found for lemon blueberry bread. what’s up guys we’re gonna try somethinga little bit new today and we’re gonnacall it baking back of it so what we’redoing today is I’m gonna try to make afinished recipe that I found for somelemon blueberry bread for my mom’sbirthday so we’ll see how this goesbefore we start I should give you guys alittle bit of context but first my apronso my mom got me this a few years agomath teacher and it says I ate some pieso I thought that was pretty funny Inormally when I’m wearing a formalbaking but you guys don’t want me to seeme wiping my dirty and it’s all over myshirt so so circuits coronavirusFlorentine started something that I’vebeen doing a lot more of is baking andjust cooking a journal because I have somuch time and I feel like it’s saferthan going out to a restaurant everynight and exposing us to more peopleI’d rather student online grocery orderpick up her groceries last time to getup in the house and go from there so theother day my fiancee was putting it inorder women’s and wow we had that orderin progress I casually mentioned man wereally need some more all-purpose flourlet me show you what does me and add itto his grocery order he came home with10 pounds of all-purpose flour now thismight not sound like that muchand it’s just cooking from them and noteven I wouldn’t even consider myself anat-home BakerI’d love to consider myself that one daybut today is not the day ten pounds if Ihop various flower is so much so I’vegotta find things that I can do with tenpounds of flour[Music]okay so I’ve got all of my ingredientsout and I’m gonna go ahead and point outone thing now we will be usingplant-based butter and almond milknormally whenever I’m baking I’ll justgo ahead and use whole milk or justregular butter but my fiance is actuallyallergic to dairy so something that I’vedone a lot in my baking lately is goahead and find substitutes check onesize butter an 8 by 4 inch loaf pan andline it with parchment paper okaywe’re doubling the recipe so I actuallyhave two left hands and they’re not thesame size so we’re gonna do our bestwith this as far as on baking times andeverything I’m not gonna butter it I’mgonna spray itI just have some regular vegetable oilcooking spray I wouldn’t be using realbutter anyway and now that Bart’s shortpaper because I’m a little crazy withhow it fits in there that that’s gonnabe a process let me go grab it and somescissors okay got that parchment papergot my scissorsso I’ve done it a couple times beforeit’s a special kind of art form get outlike way more than actually me or what Ithink is gonna be way more than areactually neat because usually it’s aboutwhat actually I can’t be as peculiar asI’d like to be with this one but kind ofwhat I do is that line it up so that myhand is about in the center and then Itry to press it down onto the edges ofthe pan and it gives me a sort of likeboiling rectangle but I want this thingto fit in there like really well soinstead of just like cutting small pullsout I collect angles out of each cornerso that’ll actually fold down in the pan[Music]so I just finished cutting that firstpiece of parchment paper and it’s thisweird little shape like this here you’rejust gonna fold it down into your hand[Music]so now my VM looks like this and thenwhenever the bread is done I’ll have todo is take this little extra on thesides after it scores the pan for a bitand pick it up and set it out this is mypans lined and I’ll say when I belted mybutter and so and here’s my butter andnext step is in a mixing bowl beattogether butter sugar eggs and vanillaextract set call for 1/3 cup of butterthis is about 2/3 of a cup of butterit’s very good and pour that in and itspecifically said melted butter usuallya lot of recipes call for softenedbutter and you’re not supposed to fullymelt but this one did say melted butterso I made sure I melted the butters andthen it calls for one cup of sugar so Ineed 2 cups so my mom this is for herbirthday and she’s been eating not Kidobut very low carbs lately so if she seesthis sorry mom[Music]and then I need eggs at cog or two so Igot four out okay it says half ateaspoon of vanilla so we’re gonna use afull teaspoonnow we’re just gonna beat that alltogether[Music][Music]so now it says in a separate bowlcombine flour baking soda and salt so[Music]this right and Swisher and I need mysalt and it’s also one teaspoon of saltso that can honey 2 teaspoons is overyouthat’s now when you open a new thingassault serial so now I need to mix thattogether and then I’m gonna slowly addin my wet mixture alternated with themilk big enough I didn’t think it wouldbe originally so I was gonna use abigger one I think that’s I think that’sone can handle it so we’re gonna go foritoh no and I think I’m folding in the drystuff into the wet stuff oh yeahstir into your egg mixture alternatelywith milk so I have this and I need toget this in there and it says to justslowly so what I’m gonna do it’s just[Music]mix[Music]and now it just said to stir so I wasgonna do this by hand but I didn’trealize I was gonna stove ever use thisbowl so let’s get my mixer back out Idon’t know why I’m trying to go throughall of that[Music]so let’s just get this on stürmer[Music][Music]okay so everything is pretty much allcombined now and our next thing it tellsus to do is in a mixing up in the sameBowl where you can mine the flour addblueberries and awesome in twotablespoons of flour so that they don’tsink okay okay we needed a couple oflibraries on that sets them table linenI need a pint so this says that a doeswon’t bite I could measure it I’m gonnatrust it doesn’t say they’re prettywashed so I’m not gonna trust that I amgonna go wash it real quick so now thatmy blueberries are good and rinsed offI’m going to this ball and I wassupposed to do two tablespoons of flourso I guess I’ll get about four[Music]I’m just gonna go to mix this bar itwith my hand so that I can see thatthey’re all coated pretty good so we gotthat and then the next part is the partthat been dried in I need to zest theselemons over here so have our batterour blueberries mixed with flour andthis is about four tablespoons of lemonzest it took about two lemons if I didit correctly if I didn’t comment belowand let me know how to use this to lemonso I’m gonna go ahead I’m gonna add theblueberries first[Music]and then I’m gonna get my fianceeChristian to help me put this in thepans because I’m a weakling and I can’thold a bowl and pour into at the end ofthe scene okay so now I have my two pansand I’m gonna get home before it therethe goal is to get these pans a littlebit over half full againthe vans are different sizes I can’tjust use half of the mix I just need topour and hope for the best I’m gonna dothe figs in first[Music]now I’m gonna go ahead and put them inthe oven it should take about an hour tobake I’m obviously going to check on thesmall one way before them but[Music][Music]and now we wait[Music]guys I just tried to get a shot where Iwas looking in the oven and staying backup I knocked the crap out of my headI hit it real hard right here it was onthis bar it got me it has been 45minutes and you can see the small oneit’s getting a little bit close the bigone definitely still needs a little bitbut we’ll check back in with you so Ijust got the bread out of the oven a fewminutes agoand it came out beautiful and I thinkthis is where I’m gonna end it theoriginal recipe for this bad had ouroptional glaze on it but since my momhas been watching her sugar and hercorpse lately I figured I can leave thatoff if you guys wanted to add it it’sjust powdered sugar and lemon juice soI’m sure it’s delicious but for now thisis our bread so thank you guys forwatching[Music]
