How to make JAMAICAN FLAT BREAD! Roti bread! Making bread on the stove top! No yeast needed!

This is a video showing everyone how to make flatbread. I used Jamaican seasoning, but other seasonings can be substituted out for it. I typically use Greek and Jamaican. Originally I wanted to make Roti bread, and this was essentially the same thing, so I learned how to make it.

Hopefully this will help someone in need of a fun cooking project to keep busy!

If you want to learn how to make tzatziki sauce, comment below and I will make a video showing how I make it!

I used a GoPro 5 and 6 to film this.

hey you two back at it again so todaywe’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonnamake Jamaican bread flatbread so we’renot going to use yeast or anything we’rejust gonna use flour and water and alittle bit Jamaican seasoning to goahead and give it some spice Lordso agreements and we’re gonna need aregonna be during the flour all-purposeflour now it doesn’t really matter whatkind you get but if you want good breadyou’re probably gonna want to get thenight’s flour which see you’re gonna seea little Knights symbol right there itwill make a difference and what type offlour you use sometimes they’ll come outmore crumbly and other times it’ll comeout a little bit better and I like usingthis stuff because it comes out a lotsmoother then you need a little bit ofoil we’re gonna need two tablespoons ofbutter you want to of course a rollingpin your mixer if you have one of thosenice quick mixers or those KitchenAidmixtures that’ll work toothose are more preferred your measuringcup Porsche and your jamaican jerkseasoning know what the recipe was forthis because she was kind of curious shesaid it was good so this is more a videofor heryou welcome on and of course I got mymixing pot this is what makes everythingit keeps it nice and simple so we’rejust gonna go ahead and start I’m gonnacut my butter up I’m gonna use Itypically use a little bit more than twotablespoons I’m gonna use three I’mgonna put in this measuring cup I’mgonna cut the butter up so it meltseasier and faster put it in themicrowave to help speed up the processand make it melt it so I can mix it withthe flourgo ahead and melt this butter low powerlevel there go ahead and measure 2 cupsof flour that’s what this recipe callsfor and it’s gonna make six pieces offlat breads I’m just gonna pour it inhere Ohkeep pouring keep or until we havearound 2 cups a little bit more nowwe’re gonna add hay about a tablespoonor so of oil just to help the bread giveit some more good texture to itand then what we also have here this isin our mixing pot we’re an avid JamaicanJerk season so you can add the Jamaicanjerk seasoning my butter exploded that’swhat the noise was all right so add thebutter in there all right next we’regonna go ahead and add your make a jerkseasoning I like adding a lot because itgives it a lot more flavor I don’t havea specific amount I just keep putting itin there and you can add however muchyou want give it a little bit moreflavor but that’s about how much I addquarters of a cup of water it’s right at3/4 of a cupyou pour that in there get the butterand everything else yes we get ourlittle mixer we’re just gonna go aheadmix it upall right scare that head all this dotogether on one side over here there wedo make sure your hands are clean I’llwash them on before doing thisthat was good make sure you have cleanhands and also you want a clean countertop surface because that’s where you’regonna be needing the bread we go okaynow I wipe down my surface on mycountertop before doing this so that’smy dough slide it down here we go nowI’m gonna do a little bit more flourstill stickynow once you’ve gotten it to the fieldyou’ll after doing this for a whileyou’ll feel how the dough feels or eventell what you’re gonna need to add to itand I just took some flour and I had itto it and it gave it a better texture sonow that I got enough I got my doughhere I’ll throw it down I’m just gonnaroll it I’m gonna roll it into a nicecylindrical shape here this is gonnamake it easier for cutting so I can makesure I have my six pieces that I’m gonnacut out of it all right and I got thisthis one cut to cut and three cut I’lldo the other side one cut to goodpink pink pink how many we got one twothree four five and six all right nowlook beautiful right sitting there overthere of course they do now we’re gonnago ahead we’re gonna flatten them outjust like this so I’m gonna do is I’mgonna take flour I’m gonna put it hereon a nice little table that we got it sonicely flatten each piece I’m gonna takethis nice red roller whatever you liketo call it I call them a bread rollerbecause that’s usually where they use itfor pizza dough and everything else justmake it into whatever shape you wantthat’s gonna look a little bit like thisif you have a lot of flour that’s finebecause it’s gonna help it to cook justgo ahead and put it on whatever pieceyou want and then our okay round likethis makes it easiersplatting it down take it flatten itdown rolled out with a rolling pin[Music][Applause]all right so like I said this makes sixpieces here and they’re all neatly onthis nice plate they’re gonna be weightand ready to cook on our skill we gotover here usually I will add butter toit for each one and the butter is justgonna melt it’s gonna give it a nicesear and it’s also gonna give the breadmore flavor as well essentially youmight ask is there a certain amount oftime that I leave it on the pan andthere is yes and I know it depends onhow thick you make your bread if youmake it really thick it’s gonna takelonger to cook it all the way through ifyou make it thinner it’s gonna cookfaster now if you add butter and allthat fun stuff to it you may want toflip it over at a later time but for meI just kind of gauge until I see thebread start to kind of rise in differentareas and then I’ll take it I’ll flip itover I try not to let it burn I meanyou’ll be able to tell if you’re doingthis a few times when it’s actuallystarting to burn and that’s not a funsmell so you take it over and you justflip it and once that’s done you can putit back over on your other plates yougot it ready for itsmile last season it cooking it smellsgood like thatoh just turning brown the little areasit’s kind of how you want it just rightit’s good if you have a flat pan withoutany ridges or anything inside of it justso the bread stays flat all along and itcooks yeah not uneven but it cooksevenly all the way through that is howyou make Jamaican flatbread they alsomake tizzy sauce along with it all rightso we got a Jamaican flip right here andwe also have 2 ZD sauce I made thismyselfI usually may want to see you saw on theway you can buy it probably by this doorbut I usually make my own because it’sjust a roll anyways let’s go ahead anddip a little bit in this new sauce we’llsee how this tasteshmm perfect amount of spies and tomaking seasoning the always wins such agreat great taste
