bake some cookies and Ithought I would record baking thecookies and then talk about books whileI bake cookies and then I’m gonna makesome tea and see if I have anything elseto say so I guess I will put the cookierecipe in the comment section orsomething I’ll put it down below in thevideo description if you want but we’rejust gonna make basic bitch peanutbutter cookies and talk about booksbecause shegot her bark box yesterday her firstbark box yesterday and it was her sixmonth gotcha present I got her from thepound six months ago on the 11th so or14th I paid for her on the 11th Ibrought her home on the 14th but she gotthis flake little pig but if you followbarkbox on social media it’s that chickbut she’s obsessed with it and it’s kindof cute I’ll see if I can it hurt somevideo or something but anyway so bookslet’s talk about first of frickin allsomebody caught my damn library on fireguys like caught like set a fire onpurpose in the public library like theone that I go to that I’m excessivelyprivileged because it’s across thestreet from where I work um caught onfire somebody I guess set a fire in thebathroom is what it sounds like none ofthe books were damaged the sprinklerscame on and I don’t think any of thebooks for damaged then either but of allthe places that you’re going tocatch on fire maybe it shouldn’t be thefire hazard this is why we can’t havenice things just I don’t know what to dowith that like why would you catch alibrary on fire it’s a library it’sliteral it’s BA how dare you if you’rethe person that caught our library shameon you shame on you expose yourself inthe comments because publicly shame foryou so what have I been reading since mylast video I have readthe deep by River Solomon and ninthhouse by Leigh bardugo and I am about40% through becoming by Michelle Obamawhich is a whole saga on its own and myaudiobook for now which is no longer becoming I guess I guess I’ll go into thatmy audiobook now is the devil in theWhite City which if you don’t know issupposed to be about the serial killerHH Holmes and his work around the timeof the Chicago World’s Fair which iswhen he was working so if you don’t knowum he he had like a murder castle or amurder hotel or a murder building and itwas like right across the street fromwhere the World’s Fair in Chicago endedup being held and it it has like amurder basement I’ve this is not this isfacts hash tag facts ok it had like amurder basement in it and because Iguess because the World’s Fair was goingon which still nobody can knows why itwas in Chicago but okay well the World’sFair was going on they lost a obscenelylarge number of women and like they’remissing women and some of those womenwere found in HH Holmes murder basementI think if you want to look this up he Ithink I don’t know if he was a realdoctor but he had a title doctor hisreal name was Herman Mudgett so if youwould like to look this up HermanMudgett HH Holmes 1889 ish anyway so thebook the devil in the white city thatI’ve been listening to is this this veryshort audio book and it is a fantasticaudio book about the Chicago World’sFair with some murder thrown in andit’s not supposed to be that it’sactually supposed to be about both ofthe things but even like the narrator ofthe audio book is way more excited aboutthe World’s Fair in thebuilding of the World’s Fair and Leelike all of the crap that has gone wrongwith the World’s Fair and then the partsabout the serial killer parts are justhe’s just trying to get through them andit’s it’s not funnybut it is hilarious to me because it’slike I have learned so much about theWorld’s Fair which is really not why Ipicked up this book I picked it upbecause it’s true crime and because it’s11 hours long and I thought yeah I couldget through it while I was doing my slogwork this week which I am I’m enjoyingit it’s just not about HH Holmes it’sabout the World’s Fair with HH Holmeskind of dumped in every so often sothat’s my audiobook I don’t really thinkI’m gonna mark that of spoilers this wasreal life so my dog what’s up here letme get my tea down I was listening tobecoming on audiobook and I listen tothe same audiobook at double speed forlike two weeks and then I had to give itback to the library which sucked but Ijust thought because I wanted to finishit like it’s actually really good and Iwas really enjoying the audiobook that Iwould renew it it didn’t happen I didnot renew it because someone had a holdon itwhich is fine I mean I don’t need to bea greedy bitch um so I was like okayI’ll just get the book book and so Iestimated where I was at on my Goodreadswhich was about 40% per what myaudiobook look like so I estimated thatand I was like ah let’s go get the bookbook nope libraries out of the book bookhow about the e-book no library doesn’thave the e-book all check out so I waslike okay I’ll go to the bookstore andI’ll just buy be coming because why notit’s a good but I’ve enjoying it andit’s got pictures so I bought it and I’mlike ten percent through it so I don’tknow where or like what I was listeningto with the audiobook but I mean I wasnot very far through it I was not 40%through that book and it was just likeit did not happen so I could not let thefirst BNF of 20/20 be Michelle Obamaespecially because I’m enjoying the showthe book so I bought it and now I’m backout to 40% so it just took like an extratwo days of reading to get where Ithought that I was which is honestly whyI don’t listen to audio books that arevery long or listen to audiobooks veryoften it’s just I’m doing some liketragedy work right now so I just wantedsomething to listen to that wasn’t thatwasn’t music so this is what’s going onmy lap right now this happens a lot whatI’m filming okay so the deep I let’stalk about the deep I read it in a daylike I thought I would I thought itwould take me just a couple of hours itactually took me about six hours becauseI kept having to reread parts um I likedit I gave it three stars I think and thestory like the story was fantastic Ireally liked the story I really likedthe idea of the story which I guess ifyou don’t know what this is about it isabout merfolk who are descended frompregnant African women who were thrownoff of slave ships so it is just afascinating premise and like reallyunique and I thought you know I would Iwould really enjoy it and I did enjoythe story but something about thewriting made me feel stupidand I’m not stupid I mean like I soundstupid sometimes but I’m not I’mactually pretty pretty reasonablyintelligent so the idea of soundingstupid or feeling stupid after readingthe book I just kind of got me and Idon’t know if it was just the author’swriting style this is my first book bythem so it could be that I’m just notused to the way that they write but Idon’t know if it was just the author’swriting style or maybe because it was ashort story and or novella and Iexpected like a longer story or what wasgoing on with that but I felt dumb sothat wasn’t cool but I may pick upsomething else by River Solomon and seeif it’s just like maybe I’m just notmeshing with her writing style or maybeit was just that I wantedher book and I got a shorter story Istill would generally recommend it it’sjust I I felt like I really missedsomething and it wasn’t wasn’t fun to tofeel stupid so I don’t know about thatbut ninth house though I read that rightafter and I really loved it I am asucker for ghost stories and I haveenough of a weirdo that I know someabout the secret societies at Yale andtheir supposed you know controlling theworld or whatever it is that they do soIlluminati confirmedso I was I actually really enjoyed thatstory and I sucked that through in maybethree days and honestly like the onlyreason that I considered knocking a staroff of ninth house is because it wasover so that was fun but I actually likeI actually really enjoyed that one so Ican’t wait for her to continue thatstory once again this is my first bookby this author so my first RiverSullivan and then my first Lee bardugowhich I’m probably like the only personon the internet that has not readanything else by Leigh bardugo but Ihave not decided if the six of crowszoology is just too much for me or Ihaven’t decided on that yet part of methinks that it’s just gonna be like toomuch for me so and then the other stuffthe gursha verse I don’t know why Idon’t know if I want to get into aseries right now other than the MortalInstruments / shadow hunters so that Imight read later but it’s gonna be alittle bit I think let’s see what elseoh okay so I’m doing a read-a-thon inMarch the Women’s History Monthread-a-thon and it runs for the wholemonth of March I will put the details inthe description box along with my cookierecipe if you would like to check thatout or join a join with that and itlooks like it’s gonna be a lot of funit’s like a bingo board with sixteensquaresI am going to try for all of them andI’ve got I think you 13 boats becauseyou can double up all by women authorsmost of them I actually own so that’s aplus there are three I think that I’mgetting it from the library but I’msuper excited for that so I guess that’spretty much all of my bookish readingnews at this point can’t really can’twait for marks but as soon as I getthrough becoming wicked King is next soI can’t wait to read that because everytime I try to pick up like a kingsomething gets released from the libraryso Mona you’re not gonna can assist so Iam looking forward to that because Ihave been waiting to have been waitingto read wicked King since the beginningof the month so we’ll see how that goesbut I am at I think eleven books rightnow for the month which isn’t bad um Ihave stuff to do on Saturday and then Ihave stuff to do next Saturday so I’mnot gonna get like long reading daysSunday’s are binge days for Sims soprobably not gonna do that Sunday butthe rest of the week I read quite a bitand I read fast so I can get through Ithink probably at least two more bookshopefully wicked King and then I alsowant to read one of my thrift storebooks which was the whatever the oneabout ghosts was I can’t read what itwas called Baba it’s really beenintriguing me like it’s sitting on myshelf and I’m looking at it and it’sjust it’s intriguing me so to sum upburning libraries is bad the deep was athree star out of five because I feltdumb but if I didn’t feel dumb then itwould have been a five star to five andthen a ninth house five star out fiveand in Women’s History Month read-a-thondetails down below and then becoming byMichelle Obama so I think I’ve coveredeverything and I probably don’t havevery much time before my cookies aredone so I will finish up with putting mycookies in the oven and then sit downone more
