good morning everybody my name is Utahand I make people uncomfortable so fortoday’s video as promised I’m going tobe doing a cooking video and I picked arecipe from my five hundred fast andfabulous five-star five ingredientrecipes book it took me the longest timeto find the perfect recipe for you guysbecause I really didn’t know what tolook into to make for you because thereare so many different options to choosefrom so I asked around to a bunch offriends and co-workers and the consensuswas to do something more of along thebaking line more of like a pastry or asuite because the holidays are coming upand the cold weather is finally hit soafter searching and searching andsearching I finally found the perfectrecipe I decided to make a thing ofcookies for you but not just any cookiesI decided to do vinegar cookies I waslooking through all the pages and I sawthese delicious chocolate fruit sweetdishes and then I found vinegar cookiesnever heard of him before no one else Ihad spoken to had ever heard of thembefore and it sounded disgusting so thatis what I decided to make for you guystoday looking at the title of the bookof course it’s only going to be fiveingredients those ingredients today aregoing to be butter all-purpose flourbaking soda sugar and of course vinegarso here we have the recipe as you cansee it includes the five ingredientsthat I told you about in a shortdescription of how to make it it doesn’treally go into much detail as you cantell so kind of trying to figure it outis going to be funhmmm I went ahead and pre-measured foryou guys because I know how difficult itis for me to get everything measuredbecause I’m really not good at cookinggenerally but the first step it says togo ahead and cream together the softenedbutter and the sugar it gave me twowhole sticks of butter for the recipeand 1 cup of sugar there are no eggs oranything in this one which I thought wasreally weird because I couldn’t reallyfigure out what the binding agent wasgonna be but I’m guessing it’s gonna bethe butter this time that and thechemical reaction between the bakingsoda and the vinegar is probably goingto help hold the recipe together alsobut let’s go ahead and get started Idecided to go ahead and just use a handmixer for it because trying to creameverything together by hand wouldprobably take me a really really reallyreally really long time and that iswhole lot ahead just so that you cankind of see everything since I don’treally have another angle that I can putmy camera out unfortunately but let’ssee how this goes[Music][Applause][Music][Music]everybody else too I don’t know unlessyou’re like a genius with these things Icannot forget at this day and though I’mreally bad at this looks really nice andfluffy I think it was probably because Igave the butter enough time to softeninstead of trying to kind of just mushit together when it was really hard likeI usually dothe next step that wanted us to do isgradually add in the other ingredientsso we’ll be putting in the two cups offlour the half a teaspoon of baking sodaand the teaspoon of vinegar so it’sgonna be fun watching how all theseingredients react to each other so let’sgo start with the biggest one firstwhich is going to be the flour[Applause][Music]kind of gummed up doors it’s probablypartially why it’s so thick is becauseall of the butter mixture is still stuckand the mixer itself instead ofincorporating in with the flour andeverything but handy-dandy littlespatula here it’s really gonna help meout because it was either use this orjust shove my whole finger in don’t youI mean I’m sure isn’t really gonna hurtme if I do it since there’s no egg inthis but I have already added flour so Ireally don’t want to get some Anelathat’s okay if you decide to try thisrecipe since there is no egg in it youknow of course it’s gonna be like veganit’ll be vegetarian and pretty much anyother thing that people are going onwith I think it’s like I don’t know ifit’s keto or anything I don’t reallyknow what any of these actually want youto do with them the different like dietsand whatnot I don’t know what you canand can’t eatso I mean if I get it wrong don’t let medo it I’m just figuring things out as Igo mix it a little bit and then we’lladd the baking soda and I’ll add in thevinegar and then it wants you to bake itat 350 for 8 to 10 minutes[Music][Music]I don’t really know consistencies fordifferent products so I mean don’t holdme to that either[Music][Applause]so here is what we’re looking at it justlooks like a little ball and maybe likebread dough or something I don’t knowhow well you can see it I mean it’sreally white there’s really no color init because we didn’t add any egg and sothere’s no yellow from the egg yolk soit’s a really pale kind of dough thatwe’ve got formed here[Music]KABOOOM waste your time was my timereally the baking soda it looks like adough doesn’t necessarily look good itdoesn’t look bad it doesn’t really looklike cookies so it’s not really doinganything I really know what I expected Iguess I’m just thinking about likescience class back from like seventhgrade or something you know everybodydoing volcano is for science but I meanI guess because it combined with theother ingredients already the chemicalreaction isn’t really going to be asstrong as it would be with just the twoingredients so it’ll probably dosomething when in the oven I guess Idon’t know what the chemical propertiesare looking like at the moment thoughwith it but baking and cooking ingeneral are all about chemistryso we’ll see what it does we’ve got anice little ball of doughsmells like Easter like dyeing eggsbecause of the vinegarI have a feeling I’m going to be passingthese out at work tomorrowbecause I’ve had a hard week next up isto grease a cookie sheet and just placelittle dollops of the dough on the panand once again just baking the oven at350 for 8 to 10 minutes so I’m going togo ahead and get these on and we’ll seehow they do in the ovenokay so they spread out a whole lotthey’re still really white but you cantell the edges of crisped up the littlebrown on the edges but other than thatthey just got really flat I don’t knowif that’s what I’m looking for or not soum all I can really do is kind of justlet them cool and taste test them fornow so let’s see how that goes all rightso I went ahead and put the cookies on acooling rack and cooled them completelyit took about another 10 minutes to coolthem and this is how they turned outokay it’s really thin which I didn’texpect because I thought they’d come outreally like thick and fluffy um but Imean I like a nice thin cookie too theyseem like they’ve got a nice bounce backin them so they’re not like hard eventhough they’re thin so let’s see howthey tasteso you get no vinegar taste at all it’spretty much just like a sugar cookie butwithout any I like egg or anything in itit’s it’s like a thin chocolate chipcookieso I’m actually can I go ahead and foldin some chocolate chips to the rest ofthe dough that I have behind me since Ididn’t make it all when I did the firstbatch and see how that turns out but Imean they’re actually really goodthey’re chewy yet they’re still likekind of soft and I mean I think thesewould probably be great to decorate ifyou’re decorating with like children orsomething with icing or anything becauseI mean it gives you a pretty flatsurfacewhenever you bake them out and it’s nottoo much it’s not too much to do toomuch to deal with and I know it is likea cup of sugar but because of it youdon’t really have to add anything elseto it to make it good and if you have anegg allergy like I know a couple ofpeople close to me do then this would bereally good to do for them since theycan’t really have typical cookies withegg in them but I feel like this wouldbe really good to make f1 with the kidsor with a couple of friends do it for adate nightit’s my easier than I thought it wasgonna be I’m typically really bad atthis kind
