In this video I made delicious oil free vegan potato waffles that happen to be gluten free too. I used 1 kg of maris piper potatoes. It is good to use a floury potato so they end up fluffy inside. I peeled and boiled these until they were soft but not falling apart. Drain then add 1 tablespoon of onion salt (or any other herbs and spices that you like) Some black pepper, 1 tablespoon of corn starch, mix and then mash. Ensuring that your waffle machine is hot. Then get a spatula and add the mashed potato. As you can see from the video, I put quite a lot in. Close the machine and cook for at least 10 to 15 mins but the longer you cook, the crispier they get. I think this amount made about 5 potato waffles and they were big crispy and delicious.
