[Music][Music][Music]hey everyone will welcome back to that’show I cookie coach I’m Stephanie andtoday I’m going to be making some brightcolorful springtime cookies with a funand easy twist instead of putting mostof the decorations on the outside todaywe’re going to be putting the foodcoloring right into the dough and bringsome of that springtime cheer to thecookie itself and not only are going tobe putting the color into the cookieswe’re going to be changing up the flavorjust a little bit tooinstead of putting almond extract todaywe’re going to do a tablespoon of lemonextract to bring that springtime feelinginto the cookies so if you haven’t yetwatched my video called how to makesugar cookies part two making the doughyou’re going to want to head over thereand watch because not only doesn’t havemy recipe and also have some great tipson how to make an awesome sugar cookiealright let’s get started[Music]so I just finished making the dough andit smells amazing the lemon in there isso bright and cheery I love it I amgoing to break it into four sectionsbecause I’ve decided that I want to dofour different colors if you want to doless that’s finematter of fact if you only want to doone color you can go ahead and let yourmixing machine do the work for youbecause you can put the food coloring inright away with your wet ingredients andthen you won’t even have to worry aboutgetting your hands all messy but I’mgoing to go ahead I decided that I wantto be an overachiever and I want to dosome orange some pink some purple andsome teal I’ve got my gel paste foodcolorings but again whatever you havewill work and you’re just going to kneadit into the dough it’s gonna get you alittle messy but food coloring will comeout no big deal I’ve got my orange hereand I do want it to be a bright andvibrant color even after baking so I amgoing to make it quite bright and not beshy about the food coloring that I’musing because I want it to show reallywell once they are baked because this isgoing to be my decoration I’m not goingto add much afterwards[Music]don’t they look greatthey’re already cheering me up andthey’re not even cookies yet so I’mgonna put these in the refrigerator foragain about one to three hourslet them show let them set up a littlebit and then I’ll be back to roll themout and bake them these developmentschill enough for about two hours so I’mready to roll them out and cut them intomy springtime shapes I’m choosing abunny a chick a butterfly and myfavorite the tulle up so I’m going to goahead I like to do about a 3/8 of aninch but if you like a thinner orthicker cookie go ahead I just eyeballit the best that I can I kind of gottenused to the thickness that I like as Igo I’m going to be placing them intothis container here with some deli paperin between so the layers don’t stick toeach other and then I’m gonna pop thatin the freezer just for another 15minutes or so while my oven ispreheating[Music][Applause][Music][Applause][Music][Applause][Music]oh hey you guys that was seriously sofun I felt like I was a kid againplaying with play-doh and now with theselast bits I am going to do somethingthat drives me crazy when my kids do itand I’m going to mix the colors are youwith me on that one if you agree with meplease let me know I’m not alone makethe comment below – it drives you crazywhen your kids mix the play-doh but forthis it’s gonna make a really reallypretty cookie so I’m just gonna take thelast four little pieces of dough and I’mgonna smush them together yep so prettytadaall right I’m gonna do it again probablygonna end up with a little bit of amarvel look on some of these lastcookies and you can even do this thewhole time it’s something that youreally like through the whole set ofmixed colors this one’s actually goingto be different on the front and theback so as soon as I’m done with thisI’m going to take this whole containerhere I’m gonna pop it in the freezer andI’m gonna start the oven 340 degrees forabout 16 to 18 minutes this last one isjust going to be a blob and then we willhave our cookies so I will be back withyou when everything’s done so againfreezer oven 340 16 to 18 minutes I’llsee you guys here when they’re baked sothey’re all baked and they’ve had achance to cool and you guys I love themtake a look at this I don’t know howwell you can see them but they are sobright and so vibrant I was a little bitworried that the colors would fade orchange I don’t know why I had thoughtthat but they didn’t they look amazingand they taste amazing too because wellof course I’m gonna tryalready the lemon flavor in them is theperfect addition to any springget-together they are perfect just theway they are you don’t even need todecorate them if you don’t want to yourfamily and friends are going to beimpressed they’re gonna love the tastethey’re going to love the texturethey’re gonna love these bright colorsand cute shapes but if you do want toadd some simple decorations I’m going toshow you some different ideas and howyou can decorate up just a little bit toadd that special touch[Music]you[Music]
