if the best brownie ever and the mostamazing chocolate-chip cookie cametogether to make the perfect dessert itmight just be this chocolate chip cookiebar fudgy gooey crispy crunchy it has itall including that brown sugar thatbutter that chocolate dough works andyou’re watching private kitchen or IJohn can L teach you how to makedelicious homemade dishes to share theirfamily and friends these cookie bars aregonna whip up in a snap so let’s getstarted first off prep your 8×8 inchdish by lining it with parchment paperor foil I like parchment paper betterbecause it just fits so nicely in thereI think of this perfectly in there youcan lift it right out nothing’s gonnatear either okay set that aside nowlet’s whisk up the dry ingredientsstarting with two and a quarter cups or270 grams of all-purpose flour 1tablespoon of cornstarch using ateaspoon of salt here I want to be likenice and like have a good bite tocontrast with all the sweetness of thechocolate and the sugar now one teaspoonof baking soda for leavening ok whisk itall up set it aside and now for the wetingredients we’ve got some other parentscoming over for a combined playdate so Ithought these chocolate chip cookie barswould be like that perfect like easysnack to have hanging around in additionto some coffee into a large bowl I’madding 3/4 of a cup or 170 grams of amelted butter 2/3 of a cup or 133 gramsof regular white sugar and then 1 cup ortuna grams of brown sugar lightly packedokay you can mix this up it’s in a formkind of a thick slurry now a buttersugar slurry if you have any like lumpsof brown sugar just like mash them upnow I’m going to add in 1 tbsp of a nicevanilla extract and aromatic I love itand then to room-temperature eggs switchto a whisk and yes you could do this ina stand mixer or with an electric mixerbut you know if I’m making chocolatechip cookie bars I don’t mind getting alittle exercise in whisk it together trynot to eat this right now because it isjust like heaven on a stick I don’t knowwhat to say it’s delicious but controlyourself andHertz whisk together you’re gonna dumpin the dry mixture this is so easy it’slike hello why isn’t this every day andI’m gonna use my spatula just to fold itin you could use whisk I just thinkit’ll be a little bit easier and to behonest I like the way it feels it’s solike it’s bringing me some relaxationvibes and once this gets to a point oflike being mostly incorporated we’regonna add our chocolate chips and youhave some choices here just chocolatechips sure add some more things why notso you could add in like 1/2 a cup or afull cup of chopped toasted pecans orwalnuts macadamia nuts whatever you likeand then for the chocolate itself yesyou could use semi-sweet chocolate ifyou’re following along on the blogthat’s what I specified but today I’mgonna mix it up and use half-and-halfsemi-sweet and bittersweet so the onlything I’m gonna tell you is take thehandful of chocolate chips and set themaside this is so you can just dot thetop of your cookie bars with some niceclean chocolate chips the same thinglike you would do with cookies so setthose aside and now toss the rest in andfold them in if you want you could useM&Ms in here or butterscotch candy it’sreally like whatever you enjoy eatingthe only thing I want you to do is thistry and distribute the chocolate chipsfairly evenly so that you know one onebar has like one chocolate chip and yetI want is complete chocolate chips knowyou want to have it be fairly fairlyeven and here you see in this step we’rejust finishing up with the mixing aswell so any little pockets of the drymixture are gonna be worked in therethis is ready to transfer to ourprepared 8 inch baking dish you coulduse a 9 inch baking dish as well oticebe a bit thinner but that’s like stilltotally delicious okay pop this in herecarefully actually doesn’t after youcarefully this is reminding me of mybrownie recipe you can click up here forthat oh my god that brownie is like thefuzziest most delicious thing in theworld with that nice crackled top it’samazing ok just smooth the top out thisrecipeis seriously like the even less fussierversion of a chocolate-chip cookiebecause there’s no worry about anythinganything about you’re just dumpingdumping everything in mixing it up andnow I can take my reserved chocolatechips and just dot the surface with themhow many does have some nice glossychocolate moments all across the top andyou’re gonna get that the best way ifthere’s no cookie batter one less thingbefore I forget and this is totallyoptional is you can take some flaked seasalt and just sprinkle it on top just alittle bit of that crunchy like saltybite with the chocolate and the brownsugar you’re gonna love it unless youdon’t in which case skip that step it’sup to you all right now you’re gonna popthis into the oven for 30 plus minutesit kind of depends on like how done youwant them like do you want that kind oflike gooey like delicious like fudgymoment in the middle then 30 minutesdoing them bakes that are a bit moresetup add an extra 5 or 10 minutes onthere it’s really your personalpreference I’m currently intoxicated bythis amazing cookie bar to be look atthis do you see what wow so good oh mygosh all rightthis is now firm enough to removewithout like it crumpling you just wantto let it set remove that paper do yousee how
