Butter (or chocolate chip) cookies are a holiday classic for a reason: They’re delicious, soft or crispy, versatile, and make the perfect foundation for sugary-sweet frosting (if needed). Using the cookie cutter of your choice (or hands), turn this basic dough into stars, Christmas trees, and many more.
Total Time :- 1 hours, Serving Size – 20
Unsalted Butter – 200 gms
Powdered Sugar – ½ cup
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
All purpose flour (maida) – 2 cups
Baking powder – ½ tsp
Step1:- In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat butter until blended and add sugar until blended again. Increase speed to high, beat until light and creamy. At low speed, beat in vanilla. Beat in flour and baking powder just until blended.
Step 2:- Divide dough into 2 equal pieces. Add chocolate chips in 2nd piece.
On lightly floured surface, make cookies with hands or use cutters
Step 3 :- Preheat oven to 400ºF
Step 4:- Place cookies, 1 inch apart, on large ungreased cookie sheet, (sprinkle cookies with colored sugar now, or frost with Ornamental Frosting after baking).
Step 5:- Bake cookies 10 to 12 minutes, until they are lightly brown. Let them cool at room temperature.
Store cookies in tightly covered container up to 2 weeks.
