⭐️FLAKY PIE CRUST RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
9 inch unbaked pie shell
1 1/4 cup (240 g) dark brown sugar (packed cups)
1/4 cup (30 g) all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
3 large eggs (room temperature)
1/3 cup (90 ml) evaporated milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup (56 g) unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup (236 ml) light corn syrup
10 oz (283 g) pecan halves

*Bake in the center rack of oven @ 350ºF / 176º C for 1 hr to 1 hour 10 minutes
*Allow the baked pie to set for at least 6 hours, bake the day before for best results

[Music]today I am going to be making adelicious pecan pie I’m also going to beusing a homemade crust you candefinitely use a store-bought press withthis but I’ll also link my buttery flakycrust recipe in the description belowhere’s how I do it to get started you’llneed 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust you canmake your own or you can usestore-bought I will link my recipe belowthis video and I am going to put this inthe refrigerator until I need it for thefilling I’m going to start by using oneand a quarter cup of dark brown sugarand I packed the cups as I measured I’malso using a quarter cup of all-purposeflour 1/4 teaspoon of salt I’m going togive this a mix and I find mixing theflour with the sugar while it’s dryactually lessens any lumps when you addthe liquids ok so now I’m going to addthree large room-temperature eggs I’malso going to be using 1/3 cup ofevaporated milk 2 teaspoons of vanillaextract and a quarter cup of meltedunsalted butter right into the bowl I’malso adding 1 cup of corn syrup this isa light corn syrup by the way for thoseof you that know some of my personalinfo you might know that my son suffersfrom nut allergies so if you’ll noticeI’m in a different kitchen today myfriend let me use her kitchen and I’mmaking her a pecan pie ok so I’m goingto whisk all the ingredients well andnow I’m going to add 10 ounces of pecanhalvesyou could add chopped pecans and you canarrange the halves on top once you pouryour filling into the cold pie shell butI’m just going to mix it into a bowl soonce everything is combined well andmixedI am going to remove my pie shell fromthe refrigerator it is nice and coldthis will help to give you a flakiercrust in your end result so now I’mgoing to fill it with my pecan fillingI’d also like to mention I like to makepecan pies the night or day before I’mgoing to serve it and I will tell youwhy it definitely needs around 6 to 7hours to set in my opinion after itsbaked you really want it to set upnicely so it doesn’t lose all over theplace so that’s just my tip or myopinion when baking pecan pies so I’mgoing to be baking this in a preheatedoven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about60 to 70 minutes and when it’s doneyou’ll see that the crust because it’sunbaked it’s not burnt but if you dofind that the crust is getting a littletoo Brown or deep in color you can coverit with aluminum foil or something toprotect the outer edge of the crust soI’m going to let this set and serve itthe next day this is the afternoon aftermaking it in the evening and you’llnotice that it’s set up quite nicely thecrust is so flaky and buttery check thedescription for the recipe and I got totell you this pecan pie it’s perfect forthe holidays you know what it’s perfectfor any day that you want to bake so Ihope you guys give this a recipe a try Ihope you like it and thanks for watchingyou[Music][Music]
