Hi, ASAPneha fam! Hope you enjoyed this weeks video and learned some great mindsets from this local business owner-Gopala’s Dessert.
Nithya is a maker, baker, and physics educator in St. Louis. Originally from Atlanta and Houston, she moved to St. Louis to study at Washington University, graduating with a BA in Physics and a minor in Art. Now, she is studying to be a high school physics teacher through the University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Master’s in Secondary Education program. On the side, Nithya is a private tutor and college/career counselor for high school students. She also bakes all sorts of lacto-veg and vegan pastries for her non-profit business, Gopala’s Desserts. All of her proceeds go to an organization that feeds and clothes the homeless daily in Bombay and Calcutta.
When she’s not in the classroom or the kitchen, Nithya spends most of her waking moments thinking about ways to combine flavors and textures in her pastries, ways to make science engaging and interactive for her students, and ways to bring people together with food and education. She dreams of one day opening a community space to share food, art, science and learning.
