hi friends I’m Brook with a flaky applepie company I’m grateful that you’rehere that means you bought a pie fromthe flaky apple pie so thank you todaywe’re gonna be showing you how to bake apastry top pie the part we’ve chosen tobake today is our chicken pot pie is oneof our most popular so hopefully thishelps you make sure you keep your pie inyour freezer until you’re ready to bakeit once you’re ready to bake it take itout and open up that box and insideyou’ll find two all your bakinginstructions right here it’s taped onthere so it’s easy just to take rightoff for you to refer to when you need itthen take your pie out of the box andthen you’ll see right underneath yourpie is a piece of parchment that you’regonna want to line your cookie sheetwith go ahead and place your box over tothe side you’re gonna want to hang on tothat to store your pie in especially ifyou’re gonna be traveling with it liketaking it to a party or something nextline your cookie sheet with your pieceof parchment the pies can get a littlemessy so this helps make cleanup alittle bit easier next go ahead andunwrap your pie[Music]now for the pastry top pies you don’tneed to do this it’s the pro pie tip togo ahead and brush your pie with somemilk so if you have a pastry brush goahead and get that if you don’t you canuse a little paper towel so go ahead andjust dip it in and just slightly brushthe top it’s not gonna change the tasteof the pie at all it’s just gonna makeit brown a little bit nicer and make itlook prettynow make sure that the milk doesn’tstart to pool right here in the flutingbecause that will make your crust browna little bit more than maybe you wouldlike now here’s the difference betweenhaving a pastry pie that’s filled withfruit versus the chicken pot pie is withthe fruit filled ones you’re gonna wantto take a little bit of sugar andsprinkle on top again not needed but itadds a nice little touch okay go aheadand transfer your pie onto your cookiesheet now you’re gonna need to prick thecrust you could either use a fork or aknife I prefer a knife it’s a little biteasier doing this just helps the pievent a little bit go ahead and put thatlittle bad boy in there till you feel itkind of go down just but of course it’sfrozen inside so you’re not gonna go allthe way down to the bottom but if youfeel like you didn’t go in all the wayjust go back and do it again somethingto take note of is your chickens alreadypre-baked so you don’t need to worryabout having your chicken be baked allthe way it’s done for you so basicallywhat you’re doing with this little guyhere is heating up the inside and makingsure the crust is nice and baked the waythat you like so he’s all ready to goand our oven is already set and ready togo at 375 so we’re gonna pop him in andget ready for dinner[Music]okay it’s been a little bit over an hourand we’re gonna check on our chickenpotpie alright if you look it’s cookingreally nicely the edges are starting toget a little bit more Brown than themiddle and if you’re having that samething if you feel like your edges arecooking a little bit faster than themiddle and you don’t want them to gettoo much darker I’m gonna give you alittle tip and trick so we’re gonna pullhim out and we’re going to foil theedges so I have some tin foil here thatI just cut into you know smaller stripsand what I like to do is fold it in halfa bit and then just place it over thecrust be very very careful your pie andyour tray are very hot so keep that inmind don’t do anything crazy if youdon’t need to press down on it you’rejust covering up those edges like so sothey are protected from the heat a bitand it will cook this middle part a bitbetter[Music]and now it’s ready to go back on theoven we’ll probably put it in for atleast another 10 minutes and then take apeek at it all right here’s our chickenpot pie it looks done and ready anddelicious and if man you could smell ityou would be excited to eat it so justgo ahead and remove that foil from theedges and let it sit for at least a good10 15 minutes before you serve it it’sgoing to be very very very piping hotbut it is hard to resist cutting into itright away because it smells so amazingokay now we’re gonna cut into this pieyou got to take note this is not goingto be one that’s going to set up prettyso go ahead and slice into it to getthat first piece out and then in the endwe always end up getting a spoon andkind of dishing it up into a bowl italso pairs really nicely with a greensalad and some rolls or corn bread tomake a complete dinner thank you forjoining us at the flaky Apple PieCompany we hope that you learnedsomething about how to bake your chickenpot pie today and we hope you enjoybaking it and eating it as much as wedid making it for you enjoy[Music]
