In this video I make a healthy Cherry Pie Oatmeal (with a few blunders along the way ha ha).
2 cups old fashioned oats
1/4 cup sukrin brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds
3 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla cashew milk (or almond milk)
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup egg whites (or 2 whole eggs)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups frozen cherries chopped (I’ve also made this with frozen blueberries and strawberries and it’s delicious)
Preheat the oven at 350 and spray an 8″ x 8″ pan with non stick spray.
In a large bowl combine your dry ingredients oats, sweetener, chia seeds, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
In a medium bowl combine your wet ingredients cashew milk, applesauce, eggs (or egg whites), vanilla extract and almond extract. Mix well.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix well.
Gently fold in chopped cherries and transfer to your baking pan. Smooth out the top.
Bake for 55 minutes or until cooked through.
Makes 6 servings.

Freeze it: Once cool, slice into 6 pieces and flash freeze in the freezer (do not have the pieces touching each other). Then transfer to a ziploc bag and freeze. To reheat, put on a microwave safe plate and microwave for about 1 minute to 1 1/2 minutes. Enjoy!

hi guys it’s Heather would help me withHeather so this morning I woke up reallyearly not by choice that’s just when Iwoke up so I thought let’s make someoatmeal for the kids when they wake upfor school so what I’m making today isI’m going to make something that’scalled a cherry pie oatmeal bakestarting for the extra noise it’s myoven I have it on convection it’s a fanif you hear that sorry about that so Ifound a recipe for a cherry pie oatmealbake as you guys know if you’ve watchedmy past videos I really like oatmeal butthis one I made per the recipe that’spretty good but I thought I could makeit even better so let’s see what I cando and see if I like it better so firstthing I’m going to start off with is ina large bowl I’m going to combine 2 cupslarge pleco and then to that I’m goingto add two tablespoons each twotablespoons of trivia and then 2teaspoons of brown sugar superso you use what you have at home if youonly have one it’ll be a quarter cup ifyou want to have just one type of thesugar substitute to that I’m going toadd one and a half tablespoons of chiaseeds next I’m going to add twoteaspoons of cinnamonafter that I’m going to add twoteaspoons of baking powder finally I’mgoing to add half a teaspoon of saltwe’re going to give this a good stir andwe’re going to set it aside once you mixup all of the wet ingredients I’m goingto put them in a medium-sized Bowl I’mgonna put one and a half cups ofunsweetened cashew milkI like the vanilla blend the recipecalls for half a cup half of a cup ofunsweetened applesauce honestly I justused these little serving size packagesI just find it keeps better and lastslonger and that should be good enoughthe recipe calls for either half a cupof egg whites or for I guess half a cupof egg whites so instead of half a cupof egg whites I’m gonna put in two wholeeggs because one egg is the equivalentto a quarter cup and because I’m on theblue plan I don’t have to count my eggsgo next it calls for two teaspoons ofvanilla extract I’m very lucky my sisterwent to the Dominican and she got mesome real some of the real stuff solet’s add it to thatand then we’re gonna add one teaspoon ofalmond extract I’m gonna give this astirokay now that everything is there Iguess the dry ingredientsno wet ingredients we’re going to addthem together and we’re going to mixthese until the whole mixture is I guessall mixed in finally I’m going to addtwo cups of frozen cherries the originalrecipe says to thaw them drain them andchop them that’s not happening you justpull it out in my freezer so that’s okayextra cherries never hurt anyone okaynow we’re going to I’m going to chopthem up[Music][Music][Music]and let’s add them in and fold them ingentlylooks like a little bit of a massacrebut because that’s what cherries will doand now I’m just gently pulling in thecherries inand that thickened it up with adding somany cherries because before it wasquite liquid it smells really good let’shope it tastes good as I had mentionedbefore I had made this before and sowhen I put it into my pan it just didn’tlook bright and that’s when I realized Ipicked the wrong sized panhey it’s 5:00 in the morning here so Ihave not had my coffee yet and I’m notfunction I’m not functioning fully yetso I quickly transferred it over to asmaller dish now it looks thicker now itlooks good now if you wanted to youcould also sprinkle some sliced almondson here if you wanted my kids don’t likethem so I’m not going to put them on butthat would be a really nice addition I’mgoing to put this in the oven 350degrees the rest original recipe said tocook it for 35 minutesI found 45 minutes was actually betterand it cooked it to a better consistencyso I’m going to put mine in for 45 sothe cherry pie oatmeal bake is donebecause there was so much liquid inthere I’m gonna say it took about 50 55minutes for it to bake but it is threesmart points for one portion this hereis 8×8 pan it Divis it up into sixpoints I just put it in myww builder it’s six smart points on theblue plan let’s have a taste herethat’s really goodI’m definitely gonna eat this one againokay so I am gonna be honest with you Ithink this is really good but I thoughtit could use be a little bit sweeter soI think next time instead of doing twotablespoons of Truvia two tablespoonssecret the brown sugar secret I thinknext time I just do all brown sugarsucre or you can add some fat free withyou know whipped cream or whatever thatstuff is whipped topping so I just putthat on top just add a little bit ofsweetness but either way I thought thiswas really good and I would definitelymake this again[Music]
