Baked Potato Pie and Beef in a White Cream Cheese Sauce E28



E28 – Baked Potato Pie and Beef in a White Cream Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
Makes 2 8-10 inch Round Pies
For The Sautéed Onions and Mushrooms (Enough For Two Pies)
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tbsp Butter
1 med Sliced Onion
4 oz. Fresh Chopped Mushrooms or canned Mushrooms Stems and Pieces
2 Pinches of Salt
1 Pinch of Pepper
2 Chopped Garlic Cloves
Fry over med-med hi for 20-25 min. Set aside

For The Pie Shells – (Enough For Two Pies)
4-5 med Diced Potatoes (Cut into 3/4 “ pcs.)
2 tbsp Olive Oil
2 pinches of Dried Rosemary
3-4 Pinches of Salt
2-3 Pinch of Pepper

Fry or Bake. Med-med hi for 25-30 min
Or Baked at 400 for 25-30 min
Until Lightly Browned and Tender
Then Set Aside

Then Fry ½ lb Chopped Bacon
Over med-med hi heat until done then set aside

For The Pie Filling – (Enough For Two Pies)
1 tbsp Olive Oil if Needed
1 med Chopped Onion
4 oz. Fresh Chopped Mushrooms or canned Mushrooms Stems and Pieces
2 Chopped Garlic Cloves
1 lb 90% Lean Ground Beef
2 Pinches of Salt
1 Pinch of Pepper
1 tsp Beef Base
1 c Chopped Baby Carrots
1 c Sweet Peas

Fry with Onions until Beef is No Longer Pink
And Vegetables are tender Med-med hi for 20-25 min total
Then Set Aside
.
For the White Cream Cheese Sauce – (Enough For Two Pies)
1 1/2 tbsp Butter – Stir in
1 1/2 tbsp AP Flour (Mix well until flour has cooked in. 2-3 min.)
Then Add
1 c !/2 and 1/2 or Milk (Stir until thickened )
Add
1 c Sour Cream
Then Stir in
4 oz. Philly Cream Cheese until well blended
Then add back The Cooked Ground Beef Filling
Mix Well Cover and simmer for 5-10 min to reheat the Beef.

Assembling The Pies
Spry 2 8-10 inch Cake Pans with non-stick spray
Mash ½ of the Baked Potatoes in each Cake Pan
And spread even along the very Bottom.
Add
1 pinch of both Salt and Pepper (for each pie)
1 tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning (for each pie)
Then add
½ of The Sautéed Onions and Mushrooms
and spread even then add
2 tbsp Raw Chopped Green Onion Whites – 2 Onions (4 Green Onions all together)
Add
1-2 oz Thin layer of Fine Grated Cheddar Cheese
Add ½ of The Ground Beef Filling and spread even
Then add another
1-2 oz Thin layer of Fine Grated Cheddar Cheese
Then add
½ of the cooked Chopped Bacon and spread even. (1/2 pound each pie)
Then add another
2 tbsp of Green Onion (Tops)

Bake Pies at 400 for 25-30 min or until cheese is melted and bubbly or beginning to turn brown..

hello I’m David and welcome to cookingwith candlepowerand I’m here with another recipe there’sa little work to it but it’s well worthit I would strongly recommend that youtry it this turned out great and eventhough I’m doing this recipe completelywith candles I’ll tell you how to do iton your stove we have a little ways togo so let’s get started okay I’m gonnastart by sauteing a few onions up andsome mushrooms and I’m using athin-walled baking pan and I have aboutbrewing this pan the last time I mademac and cheeseit’s only a thin wall and I wasn’t surehow much heat to use so I started withone candle and I ended up with threethat seemed to do the trick okay Istarted with one tablespoon of butterand one tablespoon of olive oil then Iadded one medium sliced onion and fourounces of canned mushrooms I fried thoseup for about 10 minutes now I’m addingabout two chopped garlic cloves and bythe way a lot of this you can do on yourstove tops own about medium medium-highheatI think three candles it’s got a mediummedium high on the stovetop you knowjust set those aside and I’m going tomove one okay I diced up about four orfive medium sized um russet potatoesabout 3/4 inch cubed and I’m gonna add Isee here about two tablespoons of oliveoilfuture rosemary[Music]pinch of pepper[Music]we’re four pinches of salt[Music]mr. repeat[Music]open up rosemaryokay I’m gonna start the short candlesadd my potatoes[Music]and give them about 20-25 minutesstirring halfway through and you can dothe same thing in your oven at about 4400 425 the 30 minutes or until theybegin to brown out and they’re tenderokay about 25 minutes 2530 minutes seehow tender there you arethey look like they’re pretty much wellbeeryeah they’re going through a pretty easyall right I think I’m going to set theseaside they’re done okay I’m going tostart with four candles and I’ll beusing my guard frying panthere you goa couple minutes to heat up it’s mucheasier all right I was gonna add about atablespoon of olive oil but I reallydon’t think that’s necessary with allthat bacon grease man you just want tofly it up in the bacon please[Music]then that’s a Tibetan medium choppedonions[Music]don’t let that go into it[Music]first trance elusive about five minutesand onions are well on the way I’m gonnago ahead and add let’s see heregoto first chop garlic cloves[Music]so one pound 90% we round each notbrilliant couple pinches of saltone future brown black peppercover and give that about five minutesadd 1tsp of beef stock or beef pacerather and watch that that’s that issalty that’s about one teaspoon fullcover and give that another five minutesokay and I think I’m gonna take theopportunity to do up some freshvegetables in with that because that cango a little longer I’m gonna add one cupof chopped baby carrots and one cup ofsweet peas and I’m gonna let them cookup all together give that a coupleminutes to cook okayvegetables been going for about 5-10minutes you want to go ahead and setthis all aside and start on the root orthe gravyokay fine pan I’m gonna add about aboutone they have tablespoons of butterthey’ve got a few minutes to melt downonce that’s all melt sit downgo out about 1 year 1/2 tablespoons ofall-purpose flour just keeps going downherewhat’s that flowers cooked a little[Music]anthing here we can just use regularregular milk you know I’m just gonnakeep stirring that until it thickensabout sour cream then I’m going to addabout 4 ounces of Philadelphia CreamCheese now cube them up a little make iteasier to melt down I want to addanother 4 ounces of mushrooms now if youdon’t have canned mushrooms I can usefresh mushrooms but you should do themback with the onions just before you dothe ground beefokay I’ll add it back to ground beef I’mgonna mix that in real good and I’llcover and let that simmer in for about5-10 minutes about 10 minutes that’slooking good I think I’m going to setthis aside and move on a fork mash mypotatoes up a little spread them outfuture pepperthat you sawand we give it a couple shakes ofMontreal steak seasoning and I’ll addabout half of my nine onions andmushroomsand I’ll add about a while coupletablespoons of chopped green onionsthat’s about a total of four but I’monly using half in one this will make 2pi so I’m gonna use about a fo smalllayer of cheese[Music]couple handfuls of mild grated cheddar[Music]I don’t think pop[Music]with my crown Beach fillingnot half of thatOh handfuls of cheddar or mild cheddarcheese finely grated I’ll take abouthalf of my Bacon’s pieces here put sometop that pop a little on there abouthalf what I did about quarter pound andI’ll pop that about a couple of handfulof green onion topsokay I’ll be using my lord fryer myhomemade rack I’m using inch and a halfspacer rings aluminum spacers rings I’lljust cover give that about at least 15minutes to heat up or you can set yourand you can set your ovens at about 400that will go into a preheated oven at400 for about 25-30 minutes okay it’sabout 25-30 minutesI believe that’s done and there you goyour baked potato and beef pie you knowyou know light cream cheese sauce thisturned out excellent very good with it’sbasically a baked potato with all thetrimmings everything you’d have want tobake potato that’s what’s in it youenjoy
