everybody it’s sue from luck cooking
meat we’re in the look cooking meat
studio again coming to you live on
Facebook
we had such a great time with Charlie a
couple of weeks ago that we have a new
guest with us and I’m just so excited to
introduce you to Mia this is one of my
really great friends and big fan of
Lucca can eat and if you go to cook and
eat calm you will see a video that she
was instrumental in helping us out with
we talk all the time when we run into
each other at church or at the grocery
store about getting together cooking
again and now we have an opportunity to
do that so Mia and I are here today to
make do you remember lemon Mary pancakes
yes lemon blueberry pancakes because
July is national blueberry month so in
tribute to that really great berry we
are making lemon blueberry pancakes this
was actually a recipe that ran in the
second issue of lip cook and eat
back in oh gosh that must have been
January so we are very excited to show
it to you and get ready get ready to go
are you ready yeah are you ready okay
great hey if you ever have a question
and want to ask me or me of something
feel free to jot it down in the comment
section and we will try to get to it so
bring it on in the meantime we’re gonna
start making the pancakes so you ready
yeah now I understand you have blueberry
pancakes for dinner last night is that
right you made it though right yeah yeah
so you could probably just do this with
your eyes closed why don’t you take this
book yeah maybe not maybe not take this
bowl when did you grab the bowl and put
it in front of you okay and now you’re
gonna get the blue Cup can you get the
blue Cup yeah and put the blue cup into
the bowl I’m going to show you a little
trick now you’re gonna take this spoon
and take the pancake mix and take
spoonfuls of pancake mix we need one cup
one blue Cup of pancake mix
it’s okay if you get some of the mix on
the counter and just put it into the
bowl good job keep filling up that cup
all the way to the top and like I said
it’s tricky to get that spoon into the
box but you’re doing a fine fine job now
putting the cup inside the bowl means
that you don’t get as much flour and
stuff on the counter top so it’s all
going right into that bowl which you’re
gonna stir up anyway so good job keep
filling up that keep filling up that
pink egg mix this is just add water
pancake mix so we don’t have to deal
with eggs or milk or anything like that
it’s already got that in there we are
gonna add although not we can add just
plain water but we’re gonna add a
special water which we’ll talk about in
a second awesome that looks fantastic
now give me the spoon we’re gonna use
this later I’m going to get rid of this
now you can pour that pancake mix right
into the bowl and then you can give me
the cup very good I will take the cup
now you want to take that white Cup and
we’re gonna add some of this this is our
special ingredient this is lemon seltzer
water for you okay we need one of those
cups so take the cup in this hand yeah
and put it over the bowl there you go
yep now pour this pour this soda it’s
not really soda you could use soda pour
that into the cup yes good now we need a
hole all the way to the top don’t be
afraid all the way to the top oh it
smells good
keep going keep it going keep it going
keep it going
awesome pour that in it’s all fizzy that
is going to make really fluffy pancakes
yeah did you know that and I’m just
gonna add a little bit more because
that’s what the recipe calls for
goodness
now we are going to use this tool we
just practiced with this tool this is a
microplane zester and it’s awesome for
zesting citrus fruit like limes and
lemons yes and oranges hold that in your
hand like we practiced
yep okay now hold this lemon watch Mia
what she’s going to do take the lemon
and you’re gonna scrape it over this
remember that yeah okay don’t get your
fingers on there because they might yeah
they might straight you have to press
too hard just yep
back and forth and this gives you a
really fine zest of citrus fruit okay
let’s move the lemon around just to get
more yellow stuff you want the yellow
part of the lemon not the white part
that’s a little bitter but this gets you
a really fine lemon zest okay let’s do
just turn room Pleming around again are
you doing great Oh doesn’t that smell
good can you smell that oh yeah I know
it smells delicious so we got lemon
seltzer water and lemon zest you could
put a little lemon juice in here you
want it let me see how you’re doing
that’s good that’s really good let’s
show our TV audience there’s a little
lemon zest in there so now mm-hmm
we’re gonna tap this down here and
that’s perfect
very good you just have to the lemon if
you’re just tuning in this is sue and
Mia and we’re with look cooking meat
this is our live feed we’re making lemon
blueberry pancakes because it is you can
hand me the lemon okay thank you ma’am
it is national blueberry month July is
and it’s high time we get some
blueberries in I’ve had a few I’ve
snacked on a few they’re delicious
now take the spoon mix everything
together whatever hand you like to use
best you’re a right-handed person yes
okay
that looks really good make sure all
that dry stuff is I’m gonna add just a
little bit more now of water we’re gonna
let that sit for a second now Mia took a
really fantastic trip this summer yeah
where did you go it’s a trip of a
lifetime she took a trip of a lifetime
suppose we jealous a year of canoes and
European cruise
yeah in London Big Ben Big Ben in London
yes I followed her trip on Facebook
totally jealous did you go – I thought
you were in Spain yeah in Spain I love
Spain my sister Janice was she studied
in Spain ever oh my gosh I had no idea
that’s very cool now Jana didn’t come
with you did she
no but you just saw Jana last week
right yeah she was here you’re gonna see
her before no one before way before we
go to Oregon oh you’re going to Oregon
yeah my gosh she travels all the time I
can’t keep track of her this looks
fantastic are you ready to make some
pancakes yeah so we’re buying okay if
you’re just tuning in this is um sue and
Mia cook and eat WWE comm or digital
magazine designed for people with
special needs to help teach them how to
cook and be more independent in the
kitchen and we’re very excited to be
making lemon blueberry pancakes today
from issue two very simple recipe very
delicious recipe and you are going to
get to me in case right now are you
ready okay here’s our griddle do you
have a pancake griddle at home or do you
make your pancakes lot of people do it’s
totally fine either way this happens to
be pretty handy though I can have this
side I’ll have this side okay okay
now before we get started let’s see if
our griddle is hot enough it’s been
preheating for a while do you want to
know how to do that okay all right I’m
going to take a little bit of water dip
my fingers in the water
yeah and now I’m gonna sprinkle the
water puts all my fingers on to my
griddle you do it over there yeah is it
dancing yeah that’s sort of dancing like
you right hmm me as a dancer if you
watch the video you’ll see what I mean
she’s a good dancer yeah so when that
when the water dances on the griddle or
your nonstick skillet on the stove that
means you’re good to go
with your pancakes it’s time now we’re
gonna put a little oil on the griddle
okay so I’m just gonna put a little
droplet of oil now you can take the
paper towel and smear it around don’t
touch the griddle though you okay with
that okay yep yep we’re just gonna smear
it around good and I’ll both the griddle
is nonstick it’s always a good idea to
have a little oil on this pan too okay
you did it
hand me the towel I’m gonna do it on my
side hmm okay
now I’m gonna show you what we’re gonna
do these are gonna be silverdollar
pancakes do you know what that means
I think what they’re a little tiny
window silver dollars almost we had
quarters yeah these are little tiny
pancakes so they’re gonna not be as big
as like a big pancake you get at the
Drake diner or something like that yeah
welcome if you’re just joining us we’re
making lemon blueberry pancakes with Mia
from look cookie meat magazine a digital
magazine for people with special needs
to help teach them how to cook and be
independent in the kitchen Mia is a
longtime friend and supporter of look
cooking eat and we’re so happy to be
cooking together right okay you’re gonna
put a few little drops just a spoonful
pancake mix mommy time your griddle your
turn and while you do that you can see
that a little closer yep
good you can put a little more on there
that’s like a quarter pancake not
silverdollar good that’s it yeah you
alright you want to do another one
another pancake these pancakes are
special because they have lemon seltzer
water in them and a little lemon zest
now because I have them because I love
them I also have some raspberries if you
wanted there you go
good job all right I think thumbs are
good
are you ready yeah for blueberries never
mind we’ll come back to the raspberries
okay now you’re going to put some
blueberries right on your pancake just
like that
yay okay just a few do you like
blueberries sometimes sometimes if
they’re not your favorite in smoothies
in smoothies do you want some
raspberries hmm would you like
raspberries better either okay cuz I
know what to taste it that way they
aren’t tasty that way they’re really
good for you too and now that it’s
blueberry month we do movies yeah those
look really fantastic I think I need to
turn my pancakes over so when the
pancakes get a little dry and bubbly
we’ll use this one cause it’s small
we’re gonna peek underneath is it brown
yeah well it’s getting there super brown
yeah
and that one’s pretty make a heart shape
pancake oh someone is testing my pancake
skills alright are you ready to flip
your pancakes over okay alright I’ll try
to make a heart shape
hey hey awesome work you’re living like
a pro we’re gonna get you a job at the
Drake diner
what do you think about that no I never
cook that dude over he looks like he’s
ready to go oh oh whoops that’s okay
we’ll just move them over here
oh yeah he just goes on that side you
want to try to make a heart shape
pancake okay we’ll put this down in it
can’t better world
hmm if you’re just tuning in this is sue
and MIA from look who can eat we are
making lemon blueberry pancakes because
it’s national blueberry month and this
oh that’s good
Mia is making a heart-shaped pancake
right now she’s getting fancy with her
pancakes very good I’m gonna throw some
raspberries in here no offense to
blueberries but you can use raspberries
or blueberries in these pancakes they’re
excellent hey that’s pretty good
you want some fruit in there you want
raspberries or blueberries hmm I’m going
to try some raspberries this time yeah
okay there you go now you do the same
thing just put pick a few raspberries
out of there come on and just put them
on yep just pop them right in there and
you just cook these until the bottoms
look kind of funny on these because the
blueberries are bigger than the pancakes
but we’re just gonna put them on a plate
hey hey that sounds like a great recipe
great job Nina aster says hi who are
