hey guys it’s quieter at Walt and todayI’m gonna teach you how to make thesereally cute watermelon cookies thesecookies are a great treat to have on apicnic too so let’s get started so firstI’m just going to put 3/4 of a cup ofbutter into a bowl and I’m going to addin 3/4 cup of sugar[Music]and I’m just going to beat this togetheruntil it’s light and fluffy it shouldlook something like this just nice andcombined now I’m going to add in one eggalong with a quarter teaspoon of vanillaextractand then I was going to beat this in aswell[Music]now in a separate Bowl I’m going tomeasure our two cups of all-purposeflour[Music]and I’m going to add in a quarterteaspoon of baking powder along withjust a little pinch of salt and then I’mjust going to go in with my whisk andwhisk this all together now I’m going toadd in my dry mixture to the wet mixtureand just in little small additions tothe flour this doesn’t go flying allover your face so this mix it in alittle of time like so[Music]and then you’ll get this nice cookiedough batter now I’m going to reserveone cup of the dough and with theremaining dough I’m just going to add ina ton the red gel food coloring Irecommend using gel because it’s a lotthicker and more concentrated and liquidso just smear on a lot of it and thenwe’re just going to go ahead and needthat in[Music]and when you finish you should have anice watermelon II color like this andthen once you’re done with that I’m justgoing to take it and roll it into a logfinalized about six inches and I’m doneand about two inches in diameter so doessomething like this doesn’t it beperfect once you finish rolling it outgo ahead and wrap it in plastic wrap andthen stick it in the fridge for about anhour now taking half of the reserved onecup that we saved up he was going totake them outand this is just to make the white andgreen layers of the watermelon so hereI’m just going to dye this dope green byusing some green gel food coloring andmeeting it in until you get this greencolorand with the remaining dough I’m justgoing to take it and then just wrap itin plastic wrap because this is justgoing to be the white part of our waterown and make sure you just wrap up allof your dough’s and plastic wrap andstick them in the fridge for about anhour or so once our dough is come out ofthe fridge I’m just going to startrolling it out on a lightly flouredsurface and you just want this dough tobe wide and long enough to wrap aroundyour red cylinder and then once you’vefinished that it is going to go aheadand roll that up on the saundernow I’m just going to do the same thingfor our green sheet except this one isgoing to be a little bit bigger andyou’re going to go ahead and take yourlog again and roll it up just like apolymer clay caneand then you’re going to pop this in thefridge for about two hours until it’sfirmand once you’ve done that you can goahead and slice it up you want this tobe no bigger than a quarter inch thickand you can see our cute little cookiesthere this is my favorite part of doingthe whole process because it’s so fun tosee what it looks like when you cut intoit now I’m going to take our circles andcut them in half for our watermelonshape and I’m going to press in somemini chocolate just for the seat[Music]then I’m just going to place this on acookie sheet and bake them for aboutnine to 11 minutes at 350 and here’syour finished product you can see thatthese cookies are so cute and easy tomake and they also taste good as well soI hope you guys bring these to your nextpicnic and I will see you guys next timebye[Music]
