hi everyone this is Jen from cookiescupcakes and cardio comm today I’m goingto show you how to make Valentines Daycupcakes they’re very cute we’ll do aclose-up on them in a minute but I’vegot a couple of different varieties hereand let’s get started so you can enjoythis one so here’s the close up of ourValentine’s Day cupcakes obviously whatyou’re going to need for this projectare cupcakes you can use any flavor Ihave vanilla ones here and on ouryoutube channel we already have posted avanilla cake a chocolate cake and carrotcake cupcake recipes which will providethe information for you down in the shownotes below so what else you’re going toneed is buttercream and I’ve tinted thispink since we’re celebrating the monthof love and we also have a recipe on howto tint buttercream and we have therecipe for how to make a really goodbuttercream on our channel as wellyou’re going to need a knife I have aheart-shaped metal cutter here and Ialso have icing sugar in a sifter if youhappen to have one of those decoratoricing sugar shakers I would use that butI’m not that lucky and so I’m having tomake do if you don’t have a sister youcould use a spoon okay so the first stepis to turn your cupcake on the side andyou’re just going to cut off the top ofthe cupcake if they’re nice and roundedthat will be simple for you these onesare a little bit on the flat side andthen we’re just going to trim around toclean it up a little bit sometimes thosepieces that overflow on the edge of thecupcake just want to trim those off tomake it look a little bit nicer so fromthis point here you’re going to takeyour buttercream and you can use yourspatula at this point and just wipe iton and you want to be careful not to getthe crumbs and whatnot into it so I’mnot going right to the edge because Iwant to make sure that the top of thecupcakecovers all of the pink so you can’t seeany of that so just set that off to theside and then with your cupcake topyou’re going to use your heart cutterI’m just going to press down I find themetal works the best just press down andnow at this point I’ve tried it a coupleof ways what I found is most successfulas you pull the whole thing up it’ssticking to there and just poke yourheart through then you’ve got your topleft here and your little heart on theside with your sifter or your decoratingsugar bag you’re just going to sprinklea little bit of icing sugar onto the topif you want to do that for your heart aswell you can cover your heart now atthis point if you don’t have a sifter oryou don’t have that decorating bag justuse a spoon to just kind of sprinkle iton there so for here you’re just goingto carefully lift it up it is quitefragile because we’ve cut a lot awayplace it down onto the top of yourcupcake and there you have one of thefirst designs you can also take thislittle heart you can put it off to theside there on a couple of these I justdidn’t decorate I didn’t put the icingsugar on that one just add a little bitof different touch and if you want whatI also did on these ones was I put alittle dab of icing sugar on the bottomjust to help them stick so that is howyou can do that first one now the nextone we’re going to do is this one withthe heart inset instead of on theoutside so all of these three that we’vealready done done in the exact same wayall I did was you know sprinkle theicing sugar on ones that on differentparts of the cupcakes so I’m just goingto cut the top off again trim this oneup just at the base because I’m notgoing to use the top and now I found asecond way to do it rather than use yourspatula is you could just use your icingpiping bagjust creates a little bit of a cleanercleaner spot for your heart to sit nowI’ve left a hole in the middle onpurpose because I want the heart to sitin it a little bit more so I’m going tocut the heart out the exact same waywith the metal cutter poke it out coverit in icing sugar carefully lift it upand place it in the middle so you can dothese all sorts of different waysthey’re great fun do a couple more herefor you using my piping bag I find it’sthe easiest they’re cheating a littlebit but if you don’t have a piping bagyou can oh you can use it with a spatulaso I’m going to do a reverse one hereI’m going to leave this one Oh like thatthe pink icing showing throughcover my heart little dab of icing offto the side thereand there you have it so a quick quickeasy and very cute way to makeValentine’s Day cupcakeshope you enjoyed thank you for watchingif you have any questions or commentsplease let us know I’ll do my best toget back to you right away thanks forwatching remember to subscribe to thechannel and we’ll see you again nexttimeyou
