hey guys it’s Malia and today we’re
making sugar cookies for this you’re
gonna need three and a half cups of
all-purpose flour 1 and 1/4 of sugar 1
cup of room temperature butter 2 eggs
1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder and 1/4
of salt and 2 teaspoons of vanilla
extract so let’s get on with the video
you can use a stand mixer or an egg
beater I prefer a stand mixer but that’s
my choice now first you just want to add
in your 1 cup of room temperature butter
to your nice easy ball then you want to
mix it till it’s nice and soft
also make sure your butter is right
underneath it so it can mix it up easily
then sometimes you’ll see that your
butter is stuck in it so just use your
spatula to take it all out and then
scrape the edges so now I’m just gonna
go ahead and add my 1 and 1/4 cup of
sugar to the ball and you just want to
make sure that you’re mixing it all up
so what you sure to get when you’re
halfway through mixing it so then you
just want to go ahead and mix it just a
little longer so you can get all that
sugar into the butter so it’s nicely
made or mixed I should say because if it
isn’t you’ll be having some chunks of
sugar and you’re not going to like that
so now I’m just going to take my spatula
and scrape all of it off just off there
so I don’t have any more chunks and I’m
going to go ahead and crack one egg in a
bowl because if I have a shell in there
you always take it out of the bowl but
if it’s in my mixture you’re gonna be
having a shell of sugar cookie and that
will not taste it good so I’m just gonna
mix it on low speed right now and I’m
going to slowly add in my one egg and
you want to make sure it’s nice and slow
because if you plop it right in it won’t
have the right consistency you really
want it so you can go ahead and pop and
your other egg into your bowl and then
do the same thing you did with the first
egg and I’m just gonna go do it in
slowly so this is where I like to take
my spatula
and scrape all the edges off because
when their egg is in there it sort of
makes it more a little yogi and like
icky so you just want to go scrape it
off so now I’m just going to add my 2
teaspoons of vanilla extract into my
bowl and then mix till well consistency
and this is what your course should look
like right now so as you can see it is
nice and little like clumps but it’s
what you want so right now I’m here with
my baking soda and salt and I’m just
going to go ahead and take some pictures
of both of it and sprinkle it around my
3 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and
then as you can see I’m poor I’m doing
because I got a little lazy and now you
just want to take about a cup no exact
measurements and you can go ahead and
pour it in then do it on low speed
because if you go up you’ll see in the
video what happens
so now I’m going to add it again to my
bowl and you just kind of want to just
keep doing that until all your flour is
added into your mixture and is nicely um
let me say this nicely mix so you don’t
have any like flour and also if you see
flour getting at the sides of the bowl
go ahead and be free to take your
spatula and just scrape around the edges
now coming up a little soon is where my
little incident happened so I hope you
get a good laugh here so right after
this my around my second laughs in my
flour I am pouring it in and I’m
forgetting that I was supposed to put on
one and it just all like Kabam so let’s
see that happen
I know my faith at the end was a little
inconvenient but I’m like uh uh uh so
that is just what I was gonna delete but
I thought maybe you guys would like to
see that so that was just a little clip
which is like a little blooper in it so
now this is where looks like all mixed
together and it will stick to your
spatula or whatever you’re using as your
mixing thing and it’s natural so don’t
be like oh no that’s happening so I’m
just gonna go ahead and put parchment
paper down on my table you want to take
two pieces but I only did one you cuz I
totally forgot to do my second one so
later in the video you see me being like
um and that my second one goes on
because when you’re rolling your cookie
dough it will stick to your rolling pin
and it will just come a huge mess which
I decided to put flour on my rolling pin
and it didn’t work so that’s why you see
this little red cup in this video it has
flour in it and I’m just putting the
flour and the cup and then sprinkle it
on it so you want to make sure your
apartment shrimp paper is over your
cookie dough so when you roll it and
will not stick and I’ll do it good

so now as you can see I’m actually
putting on my paper now because I forgot
and that’s what happens when you forget
to do something so now you just want to
roll it and then put in the fridge for
about 40 – an hour then go ahead and cut
your shapes then put it in the oven for
350 degrees and 10 minutes I really hope
