nothing says home like the smell ofbaking a great way to make your homefeel warm and cozy for the holidayseason is by baking spritz cookies myfamily and I have been cooking spritzcookies for as long as I can rememberand they add a great substitute for justthe plain sugar cookies that you mighthave so today I will be showing you theingredients needed to make spritzcookies and how to make them before youstart anything preheat the oven to 350degreesthe first ingredient needed for spritzcookies is one cup of butter need 1 eggs12 teaspoons of baking powder 1 teaspoonof almond extract 3/4 cup of sugar 2 and1/2 cups of sifted flour and 1/8tablespoon of salt so the first thingyou need to do is find a blender or youjust do it with your hands but using ablender is a lot easier if you have likeone of these kind of things use thistool for the mixing first step is to getyour 1 cup of butter so what I’m doingis just cutting the butter in smallpieces the next thing that we’ll bedoing is creaming the butter so once youhave the butter in here we’re gonna putthe mixer thing on to the blender okayand then you are going to cream yourbutter which basically means you’re justgonna get it to be all one big mush andI’m just gonnaI’m pretty low setting so once you haveit all in a good consistency you aregoing to add your 3/4 cup of sugargradually into the mix while it’sstirring also recommend scraping thesides of the bowls just to get anyunnoticed sugar or butter that wasn’tmixed at all the next thing you’re gonnado is get your one egg leave it onbeaten and add it into the blender whileit is mixing and they just make sure itbeats well so after that is done you’regonna go and do the dry ingredients thatare needed to be mixed get a strainerand put it into a bowl and we are goingto sift together all of the dryingredients so we’re gonna start thebiggest ingredient which is flour like Isaid before you’re gonna need two and ahalf cups of sifted flour you’re justgonna put that in the strainer ok soafter you have added the flour in to thebowl you are going to add 1/2 tablespoonof baking powder and then the last thingthat goes it in is 1/8 teaspoon of saltwhich is kind of hard to measureokay and so the next thing you do isjust sift all of those in to the bowland sifting is just gonna get the lumpsout of the flour so what we’re gonna donext is add this flour make sure thatyou just made into butter make sure thatwe mean before basically what you’regonna do is you gradually add the flourstuff into here as you’re stirring it soit doesn’t explode everywhereso make sure the flour is mixed into thebutter mixture really well and so thevery last step is to add one teaspoon ofalmond extract into this mixture and thereason the sports cookies are differentfrom sugar cookies is because of thealmond extract this is the almondextract is used rather than vanilla soit gives kind of a more tangy taste toit but not a bad tangy taste so we’regonna mix those together so make surethat everything is mixed thoroughly sonext what you want to do is get yourcookie sheet ready and I’m using acookie press to make different shapesout of the dough but you can just rollit up into a ball if you wantso the very last thing that I do is justput sprinkles on top of the cookies andI just use green and red because thoseare Christmas colors once the oven ispreheated you’re gonna put the cookiesin there for 10 to 12 minutes dependingon how big how many cookies you have onthe tray so like this one only has like12 to 15 so I’m just gonna put it inthere for 10 minutesso to make sure the cookies are finishedall the way if you’re not sure justcheck the bottom or the sides and itshould be like a golden brown kind ofcolor and then you’ll know for sure thatthey are done I say the very last stepis to just enjoy the spritz cookies andnot eat all of them at once that I havetold you the ingredients needed for itscookies and how to make them so ifyou’re ever looking for a substitute forputting all sugar cookies now you knowhow to make spritz cookies
