2 large eggs
6 tbsp. butter (85g)
1 cup powdered sugar/icing sugar (120 g) But you really don’t need this much.
1 tsp. cornstarch (optional) (4g)
round measuring spoon or small ice cream scoop

youhello and welcome to you in the kitchenwith Matt I am your host Matt Taylortoday I’m going to show you how to makered velvet cake mix crinkle cookiesthese things are super duper easy tomake very few ingredients if I can do ityou can do it before I move on make sureto subscribe to my channel and hit thatnotification belt so you won’t miss outon any of my new videos let’s get bakingdown below in the description box you’llfind a list of the ingredients and theiramounts and this is pretty much just thebasic Duncan Hinesrecipe for this we are going to startwith 1 cup of powdered sugar and add in1 teaspoon of cornstarch the cornstarchis optional I don’t always use this corncorn starts we just mix those togetherreal well powdered sugar or also I seemuch sugar confectioner sugar all thesame thing alright great and then we canjust set this aside and now let’s take 6tablespoons of butter and we want tomelt this you can do this on in themicrowave for a few seconds or on thestovetopjust until barely melting we don’t wantit to be super hot alright alright andwe’re going to set this aside we’regonna take a large bowl and we will pourthat butter in there and now at thispoint it’s just barely all melted aboutroom temperature we don’t want it to behot because it’ll cook the eggs now wewant to put in two large eggs and thenwith a fork or a whisk let’s just whiskthis together really welland this will provide the moisture forour cookies and then we take a redvelvet cake mix it doesn’t have to bethis brand but this was really cheapthis whole thing this was like a dollar25 at the store and then we want to justincorporate it in with butter and eggsand we don’t want to over mix so we’rejust gonna use a wooden spoon and I’mgonna do about half of it at first thenwe can get the rest of this in therethen incorporate it and then it’s gonnaform together into a nice dough and ifyou wanted to make this from scratch Ihave a chocolate crinkles video now youcould apply food coloring red foodcoloring to get it to be from scratch sojust mix it all in make sure you get allthe clumps out so I’m gonna just use myspatula and just scrape around the sidesand I’m gonna bring it all together andthen now we want the dough to be cold orchilled it helps with forming thecookies and it helps to get the crinklesor the cracks in the cookie and so I’mgonna cover this and then we’ll place itin the fridge for about 30-40 minutes toan hour or something like thator you can leave it in there longer ifyou want to go do something elseoh right once our dough has been chilledI’m gonna take a large tablespoon thisis my tablespoon measurement it’s nicebecause it’s nice round shape or if youuse like a mini cookiecookie scoop or a mini ice cream scoopand this just helps to make them all bethe same sizewe’ll come in here we’ll get some doughthen we want it to be round and if it’stoo sticky then you’re gonna want to getyou want to maybe put some shortening onyour handsand then just roll it in the powderedsugar icing sugar then place it on yourcookie sheet now you don’t have to lineit with parchment paper or a siliconemat I just always do you can’t actuallyput these on an ungreased baking sheetand they’ll work fine and space themabout an inch and a half to two inchesapart in the meantime let’s preheat theoven to 375 Fahrenheit or 190 Celsiusthis will make of roughly about 24cookies once you have a cookie pan orcookie sheet ready to go bake them at375 Fahrenheit 190 Celsius for nine toeleven minutes and then we’ll take themout and go from there and when they comeout of the oven they will look somethinglike this and you’re gonna let them siton the pan for about two to threeminutes and then we will remove them andput them on a wire rack to coolcompletely and they’re gonna be reallysoft right now but then as they coolthey will harden up a bit and they’llstill be nice and soft and chewy whenyou eat them all right and then oncethey’ve cooled they are ready to beeatenI’m gonna bite into one and show youwhat it looks like on the insideall right the red velvet cake mixcrinkle cookies are done turned outfantastic really easy to do if I can doit you can do itI’m Matt Taylor this has been anotherepisode of in the kitchen with Mattthank you for joining me as always ifyou have any questions comments orrequests put them down below and I’llget back to you as soon as I canthumbs up down the corner push it don’tforget to subscribe to my channel andcheck out my other videostake care down for me dive into one ofthese oh yeah
