all right I’ve got Santa Clausesfavorite treat here which is milk and acookie but we know that Santa loves milkand cookies but you really want to getto Santa’s heart make sure you get areally good present make sure you leavein one of these delicious Swiss beerHerman’s Li cookies this is a heartycooking you know Santa’s come all theway from the North Pole it’s go a longway and that sled of his he’s hungrydoesn’t want some little dainty cookiehe wants one of these bear cub as acookie hmm hearty filling great stuff somuch good stuff here is just a what ahealth food all right let’s go to thekitchen to make some of these right now[Music]all right so here are the ingredients weneed to make our beer community cookiesnow what we have here is a half a cup ofbutter and that’s a little cold notsuper cold but cold enough that takes abit to cream it then we have 1 cup ofrolled oats that’s not the quickest isregular rolled oats we have 1 cup ofsugar and it’s my favorite cane sugarthe kind of unrefined cane sugar I liketo use we have 1 cup of flour we haveover here 1 apple that’s been diced veryfinely so you know somewhere betweeneighth of an inch and 3/16 of an inch orso so about three four millimeters I’vegot here it’s 3/4 of a cup of walnutpieces over here I’ve got a half a cupraisins and then here we have one egg wehave a teaspoon of baking powder we havea half a teaspoon of vanilla we have ahalf teaspoon of cinnamon powder we havehere a half a teaspoon of salt and a 1tablespoon of lemon zest here gratedlemon rind which is about the rind ofabout one lemon so let’s get thingsstarted first thing we do is mix some ofthe dry ingredients together so theflour can go into a medium-sized bowland to that we’re gonna add the bakingpowder the cinnamon the salt and I’malso going to add the lemon zest becauseit can just be mixed into there so we’regonna break it up and if it gets put alittle bit of flour it’ll spread outthroughout or combine this as well solet’s take that and mix that arounduntil they’re all combined it’s justbeen cutting through a little bit and Ikind of make sure that everything getsdistributed equally let’s put that offto one side for right now bring in ourbig bowl first we’re going to do is tossit in the butter and cream that butterall right so this takes a little bit ofelbow grease first time just get thatbutter cream down there we gothat’s looking good already cream thatin there alright and then into thebutter we creamed the sugar I can justsoak about half at a time so like aboutthat much there and then just cream itin well this does always is this justtears holes into the butter that’s whythe butter is old little cool we knowwhat this butter at room temperature butif you got a really cold fridge that’s abit too cold too so in between and whatit’s doing is I’m pulling the sugar inthis tearing little holes into thebutter which is gonna give extra air andmake our cookies just right alrightthat’s mainly worked in so now what wecan do okayscrape that off there I’m gonna add inthe egg and the vanilla so in goes theegg and or in that vanilla I’m gonnatake my electric mixer let it beat thisfor about 2-3 minutes just get nice andsmooth little fluffy here we gonow we’re gonna get that excess off thebeaters there so let’s just dig it outof there all right that’s got most of itauthor I need to leave a little bit onthere for the kitchen helpers to lickbecause mmm you at this point yeah it’squite delicious just go wash my handsnow what we’re going to do is we’remixing the flour so I’m gonna add thatflour and just gonna mix that in my bigwooden spoon just enough until it getscombined in alright that’s comingtogether just smell the lemon rindsmells really good gonna add in the oatsthe nuts the raisinswe’re leave the apples lastly I want tocrush them up too much a little moredelicate than these other ingredientslet’s get these mixed in first[Music]those have to dig right down the bottomof the bowl cutter your oats and raisinswill drop down in there so you want makesure you turn this over and get allmixed in so although it gets into thecookie doughall right that’s looking pretty good sonow I’m gonna add in the Apple and justgently mix that in but still I want tomake sure I get itin all the cookie dough it’s allincorporated that’s looking pretty goodthe apples are all mixed into now sowhat we’re gonna do now is we’re gonnabake you see I’ve prepared a cookie feedoff here to one side with a piece ofkitchen paper on it now you can justgrease it too it’s good but I was likeusing the kitchen paper just so mucheasier to clean up after and get yourcookies off and everything now for theseyou can use just a regular tablespoon Ilike to use this ice cream scoop justgives you a really nice size of cookiecan I go like thatplop that on there I have another oneplop that on therethese are gonna be nice sizable cookiesI take now I take a fork and just tampthem down a bit when I chop them down toa little over a half inch just make sureeverything stays in the cookies a littlebit that’s as you see there it’s a bitover half an inch 12 13 maybe 14millimeters are round about and I wasnicely shaped that cookie let’s doanother oneall right I’m gonna keep making thesecookies that oven is heup over there at 350 degrees Fahrenheitor 180 degrees Celsius these cookies aregoing in for about ten to eleven minutesand you’re gonna see there you’ve justnoticed that the surface is we getlittle pop-up little bubbles in it andstuff just start to brown a bit we don’tbrown it too much so we don’t burn themwe just want good chewy cookies allright so I’m gonna keep making these popthem in the oven and see you back herewhen the batch comes out all right thosejust Kemah in the oven see just startingto brown a little bit around the edgesjust slightly that is absolutely perfectthat’s the way we want these and nowthat is a cookie besides those thingsthey’re filling satisfying cookie greatany time of the
