hey guys it’s an york’s from the flowerbox and today i am bringing you a brandnew valentine’s day cookie tutorial i’mgoing to show you step by step how tomake sweet treats for your sweetie thebest way to spoil your Valentine is withsweet treats and what’s better than achocolate box at all cake a cupcakecookie with a tall stack of icing I’llshow you how to make a Valentine candycracker a conversation heart and myfavorite the chocolate strawberry thistutorial also goes along with our sweettreats cookie decorating kit the kit hasthe essential cutters featured in thisvideo it also has the pink heartssprinkled pouch a stencil and a fewother decorating tools you can find thatkit on flower box com see the link instatus below all right well let’s cookieit uplet’s start the tutorial off with afeature cookie from this set thechocolate box I’m using this scallopedcookie and I have the 3 inch cookiecutter that’s also in the kit and I’mjust gonna trace that outline with myyellow food marker to give myself aguide for piping that part I have anumber 2 tip on my icing bags for thepiping consistency and I’m just gonnaoutline all of those areas before Istart to flood now if you’re looking formore details on how to make royal icingfind our complete tutorial on flower boxcomm once the cookies outlined I’m usinga 10 second flood icing to flood in thatmain area and I’ll let that floodcompletely cover the cookie notice howgenerous I am with that icing now theday before I decorated these cookies Imade my royal icing transfers you canmake them in a couple different colorsor if you’re like me and you want tokeep things super simple you can alsojust use one color for the chocolateroyal icing so you’ll peel those off andwhile the pink on that heart is stillwetwe’re going to set those chocolatepieces on the wet background it worksbest if you put the chocolate pieces onwhile the background is still wetbecause it’ll just help that royal icingtransfer stay firmly on the surface ofthe cookie now I did sketch out thecookie design before I started and Igenerally follow this same pattern withthe chocolate pieces cookie aftercookies just for consistency sake soonce that pink icing has a chance to dryI’m ready to flood in the scalloped edgewhich is the frill on the edge of thischocolate box so again I’m beinggenerous with my white flood I see I’mjust gonna flood that area in and try tobump it up over the outline just to makea nice smooth edge I’ll let that dry forat least 45 minutes and then I’m goingto add my details so just to bring thatpink section out I outline with a number2 tip and my red piping icing and nowI’m going to add swirls to the circleshearts to the squares sprinkles to therectangles and then on a squiggle on tothe oval-shapedchocolate this is the fun part so justhave lots of fun as you go around and onall these little details[Music]this isn’t the first time I’ve made achocolate box design I’ve also done itwith the double heart cookie and you canfind that tutorial on flower box calm Iuse the same royal icing transfer sheetyou can download it for free on flowerbox calm and I used a similar decoratingdesign so if you like this design andyou want to try it in a new wayyou can check that out[Music]next I’m going to show you how todecorate the Artie Magoo tall cake Ilove this cutter it comes in two shapesthis tall cake and also a wide versionand I chose the tall cake just because Ithought it looked extra decorative to gowith our sweet treats you’ll find a freetemplate download for this design on thetutorial page if you need help gettingthat icing but I find just wiggling andsquiggling that first outline with thewhite icing and it doesn’t need to beperfect from cookie – cookie is it toodifficult to do without the template nowI’ve outlined and flood the cookie Iflooded in the cherry and the pink icingand let it dry and now I’m ready to dothe second phase of flooding a flood inthat mint green cake stand and thedripping white icing this just looks somuch fun I love this design and whilethis white icing is still wet I’m goingto add my pink candy hearts this littlecandy heart is so cute it has a littlebit of a shine to it so I like usingthese candies better than piping withicing and a little pouch of these isincluded in the kit box for you as wellso once those are in place and I use thetweezers just as easier to place thembut you can also drop them on just usingyour hand effects faster for you I’lladd a few more details to the cake standI really want to bring that drippingicing to the foreground so I’m gonna adda pipe line along the edge base of thatdripping icingand then I’m gonna add five whimsicalloops to the cake just to make it lookextra fun let’s move on to the cupcakedesign the first area that I want tooutline is the pink facing and I’m justgonna work my way up using the Baker’sRose dark pink and light pink and whiteit just kind of has that pool ombreeffect and after I have my ice stacksoutlined I’m ready to outline and floodthat green wrapper so I’m gonna flood inthis area again I’m being nice andgenerous especially since we’re going tobe airbrushing this area I want thaticing area to be nice and full and thenI’m going to flood in the pink icingstack I like flooding alternating areasjust because I don’t like when my icingcolors bleed and this is a great way toprevent them now it’s time to airbrushon the cupcake wrapper and I don’t wanta super overwhelming pink color so I’mactually gonna mix a pastel pink usingpearl shimmer airbrush color and then Iadded about ten dots of the deep pinkairbrush color I’ll mix that together ina little mixing bowl and put that in myairbrush and then I’m ready to airbrushthat color if you get a little shiftlike I do just slide it back itshouldn’t be a problem and sometimesthat happens but I’m noticing that mystencil isn’t sitting completely flatagainst the icing it really needs to betouching the icing so I don’t get thatunder spray so you can see in thistutorial I’m using my scribe tool topush that stencil down against thecookie to preventany under spray and then I get abeautiful clean image as a result nowI’m ready to finish the flood so I’llfinish off those last two areas thiscookie is almost done I’m going to pipeand flood a large heart as if it’s thecherry on top and then I’m going tooutline the wrapper and add a few linesjust to give a little texture to thecookie design I’m careful to pipe mylines around those airbrushed areas soyou can fully see the hearts and dotsnow here’s a little time-saver trick ifyou’re ever trying to airbrush two smallcookies just put them together under thestencil and you can airbrush them all atonce like I’m doing with theseValentine’s candy crackers I saw thesecandy crackers at Christmastime theyjust looked like so much fun to use alittle tube and fill it with candy andwrap it with ribbons and then yoursweetie can open them up so that was theinspiration for this design this is sucha quick and easy cookie just floodingthat all one base area airbrushing thosesections and now I’m just gonnaa couple of ribbons on to each crackerjust to add a little texture and genius[Music]now remember that three-inch art that weused to trace on the scalloped art atthe beginning of this tutorial I didbake a few of these hearts because theyjust so happen to be the perfect sizefor a conversation heart cookie and I’mnot gonna use a projector just becausewhile only piping six letters but itdoes help to Center the B and E at thecenter of the heart to get started andthat should help keep your spacing niceand even if you’re making a couple ofthese cookies okay to wrap up this sweettreats tutorial let me show you thefinal design the chocolate-coveredstrawberry this one looks so deliciouspeople love to eat these cookies so I’mgoing to outline and flood the redstrawberry section and then I’m gonna goback in and I’m using the twenty secondicing that I had prepared for the royalicing transfers for the chocolate boxand I’m just gonna outline and floodthat entire area with that oneconsistency it’s just a little bit of atime saver so that I don’t have to goback and mix another icing consistencyI’ll let those areas dry and now I’mready to use tip number 67you’ll also find this tip in the sweettreats box and I’m just going to quicklyadd some texture to the cookie withthese three strawberry leaveswe’re almost done we’re gonna add someseeds to the strawberry but because it’sValentine’s Day our seeds are pink andthey just so happen to be in the shapeof a heart so perfect and let’s completeour chocolate strawberry with a swirl ofchocolate on top thank you so much forwatching this sweet treats tutorial Ihope you’ll check out the kit page forbonus information on how much icing tomake a link to our cookie recipe andalso more details about the cookiedecorating kit I would be so flatteredif you recreated these cookies if youtake the time to make these
