Baking Cookies On A Computer Processor, Then Eating Them

do you want to know what happens whenyou bake cookies on a computer processorwell that’s what we’re going to be doingtoday today this is cooking with Jeveryone’s favorite series where we bakesome assorted piece of food on computerhardware to find out if it’s possibleand today we’re doing chocolate chipcookies now a lot of people ask merecently why are we actually doingcooking on a tech Channel and the answerthat question I have no idea but youknow it’s a lot better to say I have acooking channel to some girls than it isto say I have a tech channel so we’regonna see how well that works out for usso in today’s video we’re going to bebaking some cookies I hope you guys areready for this one because I’m alsogoing to be eating them taste testingthem and seeing how good they taste sowe’ve got a couple of greedy –nt skierwe’ve got ourselves some vanilla extractwhich will be for our cookies of coursebe a little bowl we also have ourcooking method we used some cupcakes toput that on the cpu and get that cookingnow the lovely part of this challengethough is the fact that you have to makethis computer processors stay coolenough that it doesn’t shut off but alsohot enough that it actually cooks yourcookies which is somewhere in between uhputting a good amount of cookie doughand they’re cooking up apparatus sowe’ve also got some brown sugar make thecookies I’ve got chocolate chips becauseI’ve got actually a couple differentkinds of chocolate chips I absolutelylove those so we’re going to put thosein there and then we’ve got flour aswell as some other sugar butter and somemilk and we’re all gonna be mixing ittogether and this so unlike most cookingchannels this is on the lovely place ofthe internet and we actually do cookthis on some uncommon extremely uncommonquite uncommon pieces of hardware solet’s get started by making this so I’mfirst off going to just get everythinggoing basically how we usually do thisis we have a cupcake holder or cupcakecup we put that on to the CPU let itcook for a bit and see how it goes fromthere so we’ve got to get startedcooking now so first off I’m going tostart mixing our lovely ingredients inour Bowl and see how this goes so firstoff this is cooking with J which prettymuch means I don’t cook a lot so we’rejust going to mix these and hope that weget something ediblenot to mention something that cooks andI don’t die from salmonella poisoninglet’sstarted so first things first I’d say wemix our little bit of ingredients Ithink we mix our butter milk and flourfirst so I’m going to start by puttingour liquids in there and we’re gonnastart with just putting a little butterinto our cup pour that in there realquick and there’s our starting of thiswonderful train record an idea that Ihad last nightnext up we have our milk and this isjust regular low-fat milk if you wantedto replicate this by some odd means thatyou know you’re just as crazy as I amnot only should you contact me so we canplay some video games togetheryou should also repeat this yourselfpour our lovely milk in there now it’stime for some flourI say we probably should just put aboutenough in here that it’s edible I’m alsogoing to mix our sugar in there as wellput a few tablespoons in there also weneed to add our brown sugar so brownsugar of course gives it the lovelycookie color so put that in there aswell maybe there’s too few scoopslet’s go me quite sugary these go memore like sugar cookies you know whatthis channel we’re gonna make this intoa cooking channel guys so finally goesour chocolate chips add those in therethat we can mix together and now it’stime we mix this all together we mightactually need to add a little bit moreflour I have a feeling I have it lookslike I add a little way too much milkyou guys the us tell how much I cookright you know we’re just throwing acouple ingredients in there I apologizeif you do cook if you’re a professionalcook watching this say I’m sure this isnot fun to watch this is probably likethe verge on some levels now it’s timethat we mixyou guys ready for cookie dough so nextup we got to take our lovely littlecupcakes here and actually just have themetal piece themselves because obviouslythe metal is going to be more conductiveof our little chocolate chip cookies andso we’ve got a little bit that soundslike it’s plastic paper in the insidethat’s goodtake these suckers and we’re going toput our cookie dough inside of them andthen we’re going to go about making surethat we have the proper amount of cookiedough so the difficult part about thisis putting enough cookie dough in therethat it will get cooked but also won’tleave the processor thermal throttlingand reaching top temperatures so youneed to just have the just right amountof cookie dough to make sure that itcooks but also that we get somethingedible yeah so here we go here’s thelovely little chocolate chip cookies andI’m going to actually end up kind ofbending this upwards so that way we getsomething that as time goes on will kindof cook instead of just having a littleopen-ended area this way it will keepthe heat kind of in because you don’twant the heat spreading out we want itkind of flattening out so there is ourlittle cooking mechanism let’s get somethermal paste on this processor fire itup and let let it cook for a bit so ourcooking apparatus looks pretty much whatyou expect get a little thermal paste onhere though let me grab this and let’stake our self the little thermal pastethat we’ve got here put that on theprocessor real quick cause we’re goingto need some thermal conductivity nowunlike most videos I would actuallyrecommend spreading out the thermalpaste manually just because of the factthat the I know this is like the vergelevels here but we’re not actuallyapplying heatsink so there’s nogonna be enough pressure to push out thethermal paste therefore we probablyshould actually have to spray it out alittle bit more so that way we get asmuch thermal conductivity as possible Iknow that looks horrible and it’s vergelevels and I know if there’s gonna be amillion comments about your thermalpaste application but this is nottypical thermal paste application soleave me be there we go so now we’ve goteverything ready to go was time to firethis up make sure this gets the goodthermal contact contact real quick andthen let’s cook our cookie dough on ourCPU and let’s jump the starter cablethere we go so now it’s on should startcooking hopefully we don’t reach thermalmax like I think we just didthis would be fun now arguably in mostsituations I would simply say yeah wecould run Crysis or something like onthis to get the most accurate heatresults but you got to keep in mind thisis a high wattage TDP processor it’s anold Xeon so a new test bench actuallybut the most part a couple things topoint out the simple fact is that thislittle piece of cookie dough is notgoing to hold the same amount of heatand probably likely when it shuts offthe amount of heat in here has probablyreached the most and when this computerdoes shut off it probably has reachedthe point in which it is no longer ableto cook any farther and then it’s timeto actually taste it so let’s go throughlet’s try and wait for this to finish upand then we’ll give it a taste test soour little computer has shut off it’stime for the taste testokay our wonderful meal looks like someof the chocolate chips have meltedsurprising like really hotwell two things first one this did notreally get too quick at alldisappointingly there by we it I’mactually gonna finish this batch andactually put some ingredients in here tomake this actually edible and then butyeah this is so surprisingly didn’t cookall the way at least with the pancake wegot like a solid cookie one on a cookiepancake like it was a solid piece atleast but this dough I think the CPU isway too powerfulat least with like the oh no the oldices system that I had they got fried atleast with that one you could swap outthe CPU for the i-5 or whatever is thatway you get a lower TDP so that myfriend is chocolate chip cookies ordough just it remained out backchocolate chip cookies cooked on acomputer processor I mean it’s okay welldisappointed in the fact that uh didn’tcook all the way but I guess that’s justpart of the reason why I only have sucha so powerful test system because it’s aXeon that’s gonna cook a lot harder it’sgonna need a bigger cooking apparatusthan it will if we normally did someI’ll probably might need to find adifferent mounting mechanism for thenext future videos if you
