not gonna be doing anythingexclusively over there I might do a livechat I might do a live chat over therein that private group but I’m not gonnabe making anything exclusively overthere everything I’ll be doing will beright here in the home base here onYouTube because I’m a youtuber man Ithis is my it’s going into my 13th yearbeing on YouTube well I’m in my 13thyear so yeah my home is YouTube oh yeahyou know that’s where I love it so but Iwanted to show you some of my sourdoughbread that I made last night thefermentation I do overnight in therefrigerator and one of these sourdoughbaskets here so good overnight I triedit both ways now we’reI’ve made bread and I’ve let it rise forthe three hours three and a half hourson my counter or put it in therefrigerator and let it rise overnightfor a period of like six to eight hoursI like the refrigerator much better it’sa chewier dough the texture is better itrises better and it’s got a bettersourdough flavor so as we’re buildingthe starter you guys I’m playing withrecipes so that when I find a recipethat I like I’ll be ready to roll rightinto it and start doing bread videoswith you guys pancake videos cuz I’mmaking sourdough butter but buttermilksourdough pancakes now that are so goodand here’s my second one so pretty rightso this is the bottom so when I pullthese out they’re gonna actually go inthose cats on your enamel pots rightthere with the lid and I bake them at500 degrees in my oven and so yes thisis what I’m doing this morning after Ifilm our starter feeding I’m gonna bemaking some sourdough so these videosare coming and I cannot wait to bakesourdough bread with you guys so how areyou I’m gonna stop talking now I’m gonnaspin the camera around and we are gonnafeed our stars out show you what mystarter looks like today tuck it up alittle bit alright so and as you seenice and bubbly and inside oh it looksso good alright let me smell it itsmells now very what I consider veryhappy like a beer like beer in yeast itdoes not have quite as strong as thatvinegar smell to it but it does smelllike it smells like old warm beerso it’s smelling really really nicealright so let memy spatula here and let’s give this anice stir alright so today we’re gonnaincrease it again now yesterday weincreased it from 100 to 150 today weare going to be increasing to 200 so 200grams of starter all right let me see soyou guys can see that hopefully there wego alright so we’re gonna tear that allright and I’m just gonna throw therewell maybe not for this messalright so 200 grams of starterand I know like watching all of this isprobably boring you come YouTube contentto most but if you’re actually makingthe starter I don’t want to miss or skipany steps for you guys I want you to beable to see exactly what I’m doing andhow I’m doing it so there you go200 grams of starter okay and then tothis we’re gonna go ahead and tear thatout again to this I’m going to be addingand get my measuring cup 200 grams ofwhole wheat flour again if you’re makinga rye starter go ahead and use your rideokayI didn’t tear my father so there’s thatI’m like why is that reading so high ohyeah because I’m using a funnel and Ididn’t tear it with the funnel laying onit that’s okay I can still use thefunnel as a um as a guide here just uhjust so I don’t get flour all over myscale almost thereOh jewel to seize that’s dry and yes Iknow yousomebody said put it in a little jarfirst Heather I know that would be thesmart thing to do wouldn’t it but justdon’t want to dirty any more lastcontainers I know is so lazy of me butI’m embracing it and admitting to it allright 200 okay there we go I just tookout a smidgen all right now I’m gonnatear thatokay I’m gonna actually tear it with thefunnel on the top so I’ve got I’m usinga funnel so now I’m gonna add 200milliliters or grams 200 grams oflukewarm water now I did not look up howmany grams of flour if your earth nutgrams how many cups of flour if you’renot measuring with a scale so I’m gonnado that as soon as I’m done adding thisso you guys know but all right I’ll typeit out on the screen for you guys 200Wowso today I’m on the spot you guys on thenose with each and every one okay so wehave 200 200 grams of starter 200 gramsof flour and 200 grams of lukewarm waterso let’s do 200 grams equals how manycups okay soso 200 grams so see this is where itmight be a little off but let’s get thatso one cup equals 201 grams so if youare doing this by cups you’re just gonnaadd a cup of flour so a cup of flour and200 mils of water okay cc-come I see howthat does that you know the scale isn’texactly precise I’m just sayingalright so now I’m gonna take all ofthat off of thereokay and then we are gonna go ahead andget my spatula and we are going to givethis a nice mix and then Jesse will gethis bowtie back I can see how much hegrows and from now on this is what we’regonna be doing we’re gonna be doing 200200 200 every day from here on out untilwe get the starter well you can startusing starter they say from anywherefrom day seven today ten it is myexperience with Walter my first starterthat he was good to go after the ninthfeeding day ten he smelt good he lookedgood he was ready to use and I used itand he did a beautiful job in bred so sowe’re gonna keep going here as long asyou guys want to keep going let me knowin the comment section if you guys wantme to keep going until Sunday becausetoday is Wednesday and I was going tojust keep going with you guys untilSunday so you guys can see how mystarter is looking but if you guys arebored of this now you let me know and wewill stop and and you guys can justcontinue on with your starter I don’twant to bore you guys with you know formore videos what would that be yeahuntil you have four more videowas of just watching me feed my starterif you guys don’t want to see that socomment down below oh yaykeep going or an a we got it we knowfrom here on out 200 200 200 we don’tneed to be senior starter every morningHeather make different content and thenI will move on from this so because thisis all for you guys so I want I wantyour input so I’m gonna ask you tocomment down below if you want guys wantme to continue or if you guys have seenenough so alright from his old containernow that’s what I do is I take thiscontainer and I’ll just wash it up and Iwill actually be using it for Walterlater it’ll be nice and clean and Walterbe transferred to a new jar I’m gonnaput his bowtie on rubber band around thebottom works great too but that’s gonnalet me know where we’re starting and soas he grows up the jar today and expandsI can see how much he’s growing so thisis the starter that we are going to dumpdown the drain okay not terribly like awhole lot but that’s it’s a it’s alittle bit but I’m not going to be usingthis in a recipe I don’t use this pouroff like you know somebody had mentionedyou know frying it yes fried starter bythe way in the morning with someeverything bagels happened topping is afantastic but I won’t be using thisuntil day 10 and and at that point it’sgot to smell good it’s gotta look goodit’s got smelled good it’s got to smelllike like warm baked bread like a niceyeast smell right now it’s way too happyfor me way to alcohol II for me to useso I’m going to continue to dump thisdown the drain until probably untilMondayand at my by then the the starter shouldbe really good now this starter is acouple weeks old now this is Walter thisis my rye starter this is whole wheatthis is rightand his poor off today now when I feedhim todaywhen he has a poor off amount like thisI use it in bread which is what I didyesterday I actually fed him 300 gramsof starter 300 grams of flour and 300grams of water so that I would haveextra starter and so last night after Ifed it and it was bubbly and happy Itook some from him and turned it intobread now today when with his pour offafter when I feed him when I have alittle bit of pour off that’s actuallygoing to go into buttermilk sourdoughpancakes this morning for my kids so Idefinitely use that starter if I’m notmaking pancakes I’ll fry it off in in asavory pancake and I’ll have it with acup of coffee it’s really really goodbut the poor off on this always getsused the poor off on this for right nowsince I’m building the starter I do notuse so yeah I hope that’s helpfulthere’s that whoo there’s the bread soI’m gonna put those in their pans thismorning and get them baked off but Ihope this was helpful and like I saidlet me know down below if you want me tokeep going at this point or if you guyshave it and can do the 200 200 200everyday from this point on in a rounddate at 10 go ahead and start using thatpour off don’t keep putting it down thedrain because it’ll be really good touse but if you want me to keep goingI’ll keep going you guys let me know I’mgoing to dictate majority rules in thisso comment down below let me know and umif you choose yes then I’ll see youtomorrow if you choose no that I wouldyou coming up because then we can goahead and make bread sometime next weekwhen all of your starters are ready togo so alright guys I’ll be seeing you Idon’t know when but I’ll be seeing you[Music]all right guys I just want to show youwhat you’re what you’re going to be ableto make the bet starter in just a fewmore days and cut into thisa couple more days you guyscouple more daysyou

  2. Heather I add the water first so if I over pour it is sitting on top of the starter and easy to dribble a bit out the jar then add my flour just an idea kiddo

  4. I would like to see a couple of picture of how Jessie grows up the jar. How high does he get? What do the bubbles look like?

  6. Keep going and then show how you take out starter and bake with it different recipes. Then do like monthly update and feeds.

  8. Keep going, I used mine for pancakes this morning, I am using rye flour for my starter and they were delicious.

  9. Please don’t stop. I want to see & learn each step it takes to make my “Angus” the best he can be. You are never boring. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

  10. Keep going MS Heather. SO waiting to see the recipes 4 bread and other things you make with sourdough starter. Take care God bless you and yours.

  11. Keep going! I haven’t even started mine yet, but I’ve watched every video. I think I’ll get all the goods today, because I can definitely live off of sourdough!

  12. I just want to say, I’ve watch so many you tube channels on how to do a starter. It was confusing and I gave up. Came across your channel. You have made it so simple and fun, I’m on my second day. I say keep going. Thank you

  13. Day 6- Add 200 grams or 1 cup of starter to a clean jar. Add 200 grams or 1 cup of flour and 200 grams or mils of lukewarm non chlorinated water. Mix well, cover loosely and put in a warm, dark place. These are the measurements you will use until day 10. To be continued… 🙂

  14. Please keep going! I would also love to start seeing the recipes that you’re going to be using the starter for, maybe you can start doing some videos of the recipes you’re doing with Walter so that I know what to buy for when my starter is ready.

  15. You can throw your discarded starter on the compost or to your chickens. I also live in Michigan so my compost is pretty much a frozen mound . 🙂 Thank you for starting up this series . I’ve tried sourdough in the past , but I got discouraged. After watch you I motivated to give it another go. My new starter(Sam) is doing good . But I was gifted a starter from my husbands boss, that one is doing very good.
