Bake delicious Shokupan at home. This Japanese white bread is delicious for sandwiches and when it’s cut thick makes perfect breakfast toast. We enjoy using Shokupan in French Toast too.
The key to the fluffy moist texture of this bread is the “starter” called “tangzhong” created by cooking water and flour together before cooling and adding to the dough. This leads to a higher rise and helps the bread maintain its fresh soft texture longer.
