The govt of India is promoting millets as nutri cereals and the United Nations has accepted India’s proposal to declare 2023 as International year of millets. India celebrated 2018 as year of millets and notified these cereals as “nutri-cereals”and allowed its inclusion in the Public Distribution System for improving nutritional support. Recognising millet’s anti diabetic properties the govt called it a power house of nutrients and identified several varieties of millets for promotion. The millets in the category of nutri cereals include – jowar, bajra, ragi, fox tail millet, buckwheat among others.

Hey Guys! I am Nisa Homey and welcome back
to my channel. Today, I am sharing a superhealthy ragi toast recipe. A perfect healthy
wholesome and nutrient dense breakfast forthe whole family. Kids will enjoy this healthy
ragi toast for breakfast. So, lets get startedwith the recipe. I am using fresh ragi dosa
batter for this recipe. I have already sharedhow to make ragi dosa batter links will be
updated below this video. Into a bowl addin 1 cup or about 4-5 large ladleful of the
ragi dosa batter into that add in 1 greenchilli, chopped; if making for kids adjust
green chillies, add in half onion chopped,1 grated carrot, 1/4 of a capsicum chopped,
2 sprigs of curry leaves which I am tearingand adding in. curry leaves are a good source
of iron and folate hence I use them in myrecipes, 1/4 inch of ginger grated. Now, there
is already salt in this ragi batter so I amnot adding in any extra salt. Mix all this
really well, for those who are new to ragi;ragi is also known as finger millet and nachni
in Hindi, its gluten free and is one of thebest non dairy source of calcium. It is also
very good food for growing children. Ragiis an excellent source of iron, vitamin B1,
and is a natural source of Vitamin D. Ragihelps to manage diabetes and the high fibre
keeps you feeling fuller for a longer timeand thus it helps in weight loss and weight
management. I am greasing my toaster withhalf tsp desi ghee. The reason why I am using
desi ghee is that it helps to assimilate thevitamins and minerals in ragi. Vitamins like,
vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and needsa healthy source of fat for better absorption,
however you can also use virgin coconut oilinstead. Those with health issues like pcos
and diabetes must try to include ragi in theirdiet. Once the toaster is greased well, pour
in 2 ladleful of the batter, close the toasterand keep it on the gas stove. After about
30 seconds, flip it over and then reduce theflame. Let it cook for about 8 to 10 mins
and make sure that you turn the toaster inbetween so that both the sides are cooked
well. Once done you can see that both thesides are toasted well. Serve the ragi toast
to a plate and enjoy with curry leaves chutneyor any chutney of your choice. So, guy! do
try this healthy ragi toast and let me knowhow it turned out. Dont forget to like, comment,
and share this video with family and friends.Thank you for watching, and until next time.
Take Care! Bye! Bye!
