Bread Pudding

4 cups dried bread cubes, 6-7 slices
1/3 cup raisins
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups whole milk
¼ cup butter, melted
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350*. Grease a 1 ½ quart casserole and set aside. In large bowl combine bread and raisins. In another bowl combine eggs, milk, butter, sugar, spices and vanilla. Pour over bread mixture and stir. Pour into prepared casserole and bake uncovered 50 to 55 minutes or until it is puffed and a knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool slightly and serve with sauce. Good choices would be vanilla or butterscotch or bourbon sauce.
Tip: Try substituting different dried fruits for the raisins or leave the fruit out all together and stir in chocolate chips.
