How to make French Bread/baguettes at home | Simple step by step/short version

#Breadmaking #Frenchbread Learn to make French Bread / French Baguettes with this simple step by step video that shows how easy it is to make yourself at home. It’s so easy and sooo satisfying.

INGREDIENTS:
500g Strong Bread Flour
300 ml Warm Water
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Sugar
1 tbsp of vinegar
7g Active Yeast
2 tbsp Oil

RECIPE:
1 – Place the water in a jug and add the salt, sugar, vinegar and oil as shown.

2 – Place all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

3 – Slowly pour the liquid into the dry ingredients, using a table knife to mix until all the together.

4 – Add a little flour to a surface (to prevent sticking), and tip the mixture onto the surface.

5 – Knead the dough for 5 to 10 minutes or until smooth and stretchy and pliable.

6 – Coat a bowl in a little oil and add leave the dough to rise in it until it has doubled in size (put cling film / plastic wrap over the bowl to prevent dough drying out.

7 – Once dough has risen, turn out unto a floured surface and divide into 4 equal sections.

8 – Reshape the 4 dough portions as shown 3:10.

9. – Once you have rolled your 4 baguettes, place, separated, between heaven linen or clean kitchen towel and leave to rise again (or “prove”) for about 30 minutes 5:15.

10 – Place baguettes on baking sheet on a baking tray and score to with shape knife as shown 5:28.

11 – For a more crusty bread, add a boiling water to the oven in an oven proof container on a shelf below the shelf where the bread will be.

12 – Bake the bread for 20 – 30 minutes in the middle of the oven on 250 c / 482 f

13 – Bread is ready when golden brown.
