The Hyderabadi #DoubleKaMeetha / #BreadHalwa is a traditional Hyderabadi dessert prepared with bread, which derives its name from ‘Double Roti’, a term used for bread during the British era. This Indian version of bread pudding showcases the deliciousness of bread when it absorbs the richness of milk and cream and is flavored with dry fruits and spices. Serve Hyderabadi Double Ka Meetha Recipe (Traditional Indian Bread Pudding) as a dessert after a meal.

Ingredients:

Bread – 10 slices
Ghee/ Oil – Dee Fry
Milk – 500 ml
Khoya – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 250 grams
Almond – 10
Cashew nuts – 15
Pistachios -10
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp

Method:
1. In a deep pan or vessel add two cups of milk and boil them in a medium flame.
2. Cut the bread slices to tiny pieces. it is optional that you can cut the sides of the slices (Brown color portion).
3. Heat Kadai or a heavy-bottomed pan with ghee. Reserve 2 tbsp of ghee for later use. Fry cashew nuts on low flame and keep aside then Fry almond pieces also and keep aside.
4. In the same Kadai add some more ghee and add the bread slices roast until slices turn to golden brown color.
5. Heat Non-Stick Kadai and add Sugar and then add an equal amount of water to the sugar. After adding one spoon of cardamom powder and mix well.
6. Now add boiled milk and bread slices.
7. Cook for 3-5 minutes until bread absorbs the milk and sugar syrup.
8. Garnish with roast dry fruits and serve to all your lovely family members.

Namaskaram, Welcome to Variety Vantalu.Today, I will make Hyderabad special
‘Double Ka Meetha’.For making Double Ka Meetha,
I have taken 500 ml milk in the pan.Let’s turn on the gas and boil the milk.Milk has boiled, let’s add 1/2 cup khoya.Mix it well.Until the milk reduce the consistency, let’s turn
on the gas and add oil in another pan.If you want, you can add ghee also.Let’s fry the almonds.Now the oil is heated, let’s fry almonds.Almonds are nicely roasted,
let’s remove it in a bowl.Similarly, roast the cashews.Cashews have also changed its colour
into brown, let’s remove it in a bowl.Next, add pistachios.I have cut the bread
slices into pieces, add fry it.Fry it until it changes the colour into brown.Bread pieces are changed the
colour, let’s remove it in a bowl.Similarly, fry the another bread pieces.The milk has thickened, let’s turn off the gas.Bread pieces are nicely fried,
let’s make sugar syrup.Let’s heat the pan and
add 2 glasses of water.Once the water is boiled, add sugar.Now the water is boiled, add 250 gm sugar.1 tsp cardamom powder.Sugar syrup is ready, let’s add milk and khoya mixture.Keep the flame on low and add bread slices.Cook it for upto 2 minutes, later turn off the gas.Bread slices are nicely absorbed
the milk and khoya mixture.Double Ka Meetha is ready,
let’s remove into a serving plate.Let’s decorate with the dry fruits.Hyderabadi rich dessert
