Bread Rolls With Samosa Like Filling (English)

Bread roll is an easy option to make and serve when you are craving for samosas, or you have to cater to sudden guests at evening tea. These bread rolls may be prepared using various types of fillings. We are making bread rolls with a filling which is usually made to be stuffed in samosas. These bread rolls are really very delicious and mouthwatering. You also make bread rolls next time stuffing with this filling in them; everyone is going to ask for second one for sure.
Recipe:
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
• 1 large or 2 medium size potatoes, boiled, peeled and coarsely chopped,
• 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro/green coriander,
• 1, or to taste chopped fresh green chili (optional),
• 2 tbsp pre-boiled green peas (optional),
• 20 gm, or to liking paneer (drained & pressed cottage cheese), cut into small cubes (optional),
• 1 tbsp cooking oil or ghee,
• 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds),
• ½ tsp, or to taste pisi lal mirch (red chili powder),
• 1 tsp dhaniya powder (ground coriander seeds),
• ½ tsp, or to taste amchoor powder (ground dried raw mango powder),
• Salt to taste,
• 4 bread slices,
• More cooking oil or ghee for deep frying,
• Water, as required,
• Tomato ketchup and/or spicy green coriander chutney for serving (optional).
Method:
1. Put a wok over medium heat with 1 tbsp cooking oil or ghee in it. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds along with 1/2 tsp or to taste red chili powder, 1 tsp ground coriander seeds, 1/2 tsp or to taste ground dried raw mango powder, and salt to taste. Stir and saute for few seconds then add 1 large or 2 medium size boiled and coarsely cut potatoes into wok. Stir and saute for 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or green coriander along with 1 or to taste fresh green chili. Stir and saute for 2 minutes while smashing potatoes slightly. Finally add 2 tbsp pre-boiled green peas and about 20 gm fresh paneer i.e. drained and pressed cottage cheese which is cut into small size cubes, adding green peas or paneer is optional and you may omit them but these additions enhance the taste of filling for sure. Stir and saute for final couple of minutes then remove from heat. Transfer filling onto a wide plate and allow cooling a little bit.
2. Dip one slice in water to soak and squeeze out water by pressing between palms. Divide filling into 4 equal portions and put one portion at the center of squeezed wet bread slice. Cover filling from all sides with wet slice and roll into roundel or oval shape according to your choice, place bread roll on plate. Repeat the process to make more bread rolls with remaining bread slices and filling.
3. Put a wok over medium heat with enough cooking oil or ghee in it for deep frying. Carefully drop stuffed bread rolls one by one into hot oil, increase heat to medium high and leave rolls untouched for a minute. Use a perforated spatula to gently turn sides of rolls. Fry while turning sides occasionally for 4 to 5 minutes or until rolls turn crispy and reddish golden.
4. Drain golden fried bread rolls onto paper towel or tissue lined plate. Delicious bread rolls with samosa like filling are ready, serve warm accompanied with tomato ketchup and spicy green coriander chutney, enjoy.

over medium heat with one tablespoon
cooking oil or ghee in it add 1 TSP
jeera that is cumin seeds along with 1/2
tsp or to taste PC Lau merge that is red
chili powder 1 TSP panayo powder that is
ground coriander seeds 1/2 tsp or to
taste on Scheuer powder that is ground
dried raw mango powder and salt to taste
stir and saute for a few seconds then
add one large or two medium sized boiled
and coarsely cut potatoes into wok this
quantity is sufficient to make for bread
rolls stir and saute for 2 to 3 minutes
on medium heat also break larger chunks
of potatoes into smaller ones now add 1
tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or green
coriander along with 1 or 2 taste fresh
green chilli adding green chilli is
absolutely optional and you may omit it
if don’t want to add stir and saute for
2 minutes while smashing potatoes
slightly finally add 2 tbsp pre boiled
green peas in about 20 gram fresh paneer
that is drained and pressed cottage
cheese which is cut into small sized
cubes
adding green peas or paneer is optional
and you may omit them but these
additions enhance the taste of filling
for sure stir and saute for final couple
of minutes then remove from heat
transfer filling onto a white plate and
spread filling to allow cooling a little
bit we are making four bread rolls so
taken four bread slices dip one slice in
water to soak and squeeze out water by
pressing between palms divide filling
into four equal portions and put one
portion at the center of squeezed wet
bread slice cover filling from all sides
with wet slice enroll into roundel or
oval shape according to your choice
place bread roll on plate repeat the
process to make more bread rolls with
remaining bread slices and filling
now put a walk over medium heat with
enough cooking oil or ghee in it for
deep frying carefully drop stuffed bread
rolls one by one into hot oil increase
heat to medium high and leave rolls
untouched for a minute then use a perfer
at spatula to gently turn sides of rolls
fry while turning sides occasionally for
4 to 5 minutes fry on medium high heat
so that rolls don’t soak oil fry until
rolls turn crispy and reddish golden
drain golden fried bread rolls onto
paper towel or tissue lined plate
delicious bread rolls with samosa like
filling are ready serve warm accompanied
with tomato ketchup and spicy green
coriander chutney enjoy
